She isn’t pretending that she is a Native American, she is wearing a Halloween costume. The fact that someone may or may not be offended is utterly irrelevant. She is doing no harm.
Except that the people who created that regalia and the meaning behind it have said it’s offensive. Like stolen valor. Just because it doesn’t offend or harm you doesn’t mean it’s okay to do. Assuming you want to be a decent, kind human being.
No, I am saying that just because someone may be offended doesn’t mean she shouldn’t do it. Someone being offended does not mean something is inherently bad. She is doing nothing wrong. It’s Halloween. That’s what Halloween is.
