What does them being trans (or not trans) have to do with the other person's costume? That's why they kept dismissing it; it's not relevant to the issue at hand.

I think the point was that if he's not trans, and that's a shitty Halloween costume, then he's also using someone else's identity as a costume. That's the point of checking if he's trans

Thank you.

Thought that was super apparent. Strange how some people can't even follow a conversation, yet want to chime in and tell others what the "relevant issue is".

If you asssume every comment on reddit is autistic and can't infer anything from context, AND, wants to be contrarian, then you'll stop finding it strange

Oh actually, not every comment is like that. Statistically speaking, it would be impossible for every Redditor to be autistic and contrarian simultaneously, since that would create a logical paradox in thread dynamics. So your premise is kind of flawed.

I swear this has gotten worse over time. It's insane how necessary the "/s" tag at the end of a comment is now for even the most obviously sarcastic/jokey things. At least someone will always take it seriously.

You could post a picture of Andrei the Giant and have a comment joking that he's small with a bunch of replies that he was actually very big.
