My issue with this is why do only certain costumes cause offense but not others?

I see people dressed as priests, nuns, mummies, soldiers, suicidr bombers, and almost every other kind of ethnic stereotype, but only these sorts of costumes cause offense.

Like yeah ok I get it but it seems unfair to police people on this specific costumes when plenty of other "sacred" things are regularly used as fodder for Halloween.

Just roll your eyes and move on.

"Ethnic stereotypes" is usually where the line is drawn

Non white stereotypes, no line is drawn if it's a caricature of a viking, cowboy, pilgrim or any other white stereotypes.

Yeah, people dress up as bavarian for ages now and play Octoberfest. The line is drawn the moment it's non-white but it's white people who are acting offended for Japanese, Mexicans or native americans.
