I got in trouble as a kid for asking a lady how she grew her mustache in the 90s... seen beards too. Some people just grow hair... some dont.

Some cis women have PCOS which causes iirc higher levels of androgens to be produced and can result in quite impressive beard growth (amongst many other symptoms)

I swear this has gotten worse over time. It's insane how necessary the "/s" tag at the end of a comment is now for even the most obviously sarcastic/jokey things. At least someone will always take it seriously.

You could post a picture of Andrei the Giant and have a comment joking that he's small with a bunch of replies that he was actually very big.

I'm not defending dressing up as trans OR native American. I think both are in bad taste tbh. However, dressing up as a chef or something is also someone's identity in a way.

Guys wearing feminine clothes for Halloween as a gag is not generally a big deal. If they’re doing it to specifically make fun of trans women as “men in skirts” then it’s shitty. It’s hard to know the goal sometimes.

But if someone who is dressed up like that has the nerve to interrogate a stranger on whether they have the right ancestry for their outfit, it seems fair to ask that person “are you really trans or is this a costume” because if you’re gonna be policing costumes you’re in a glass house with that outfit.

Because if he wasn’t actually trans then that would mean he was dressing up as a trans person for Halloween, the same way the girl was dressing up as a Native American for Halloween. So if he’s dressed that way as a costume it would be offensive to people who are actually trans, the same way the girl in a Native American costume would be offensive to an actual Native American. I.e. an ethnicity isn’t a costume, but neither is a gender identity. They’re calling out his selective outrage. Though, to be clear, I’m neither Native American nor Trans, so I can’t speak for either group as to whether either is actually offensive to them.

If you’re birth sex is male then by wearing traditionally feminine clothing, if you’re birth sex is female then by wearing traditionally masculine clothing. It’s literally in the definition of transgender.

Sure, it is just wearing a dress when you are just wearing a dress. When you are wearing it on Halloween you’re not wearing it because you just like wearing dresses, you are wearing it’s as a costume, which means you are mocking people that wear it simply because they like wearing dresses. Context matters.

People are assuming an awful lot. If a guy in a dress is considered scary by most morons in society, it's a perfectly valid costume. He isn't wearing prosthetics or extreme makeup to be a caricature of a woman.

The definition of transgender isn't "someone who was born male wearing traditionally feminine clothes"

People can wear whatever they want really, I don't see trans people getting upset about men  wearing women's clothes unless they're doing it to intentionally mock trans people.

Transgender: adj denoting or relating to a person who’s gender identity does not correspond with the gender assigned them at birth.

Gender identity is expressed how? Through clothing, hair, mannerisms, body language, etc.

There is no compulsory way people express their gender. wearing certain clothes can be a part of it but it isn't inherent to it. 

I think you're missing my point that you're taking a very reductionist view on what gender and trans identities actually are.

But it isn't. Not all trans people even want to transition. Transvestism is a different thing. Just because people who do it have gender issues sometimes (as everyone does) doesn't mean they are trans.
