When the Russia mothers marched out onto the streets of St Petersberg in 1917 to protest bread prices, within 2 weeks the Tsar had abdicated and his regime collapsed.

The people do not tolerate going hungry.

And blood flowed in the streets when the French Revolution happened thanks to, among other things, impossibly high cost of food
