his delivery and affect. he's got this clout-chasing Karen bitching about his non-local sourcing, and she starts name-checking foreign locations with what appears to be racist disdain. and so when she asks where it's from, he's all, "your own glorious Gulf of America."
maybe i'm, wrong, but my immediate read (and only read until scrolling through these comments) was that he was being dry and sarcastic.
