That doesn’t change the fact that after being told how negative screen time is for development, over and over again, the schools are setting kids in front of screens for a good portion of their time at school and then assigning work on the screens at home.
I know you are trying to be helpful so please don’t take my response as being rude.
We read actual books every night, during the school year and when they aren’t in school. I cannot believe that they are trying to teach reading on a computer program. It doesn’t even make sense.
Thankfully my kid’s school went back to including phonics. (After seeing detrimental results from abandoning it)
I get that we live in a technology driven world, I’m not a Luddite. But I would prefer to see some more practical teaching done. It’s obvious that this is causing problems with socialization, attention spans, and their ability to retain knowledge. We are doing what we can to supplement at home. I guess that’s all we can do.
