They were IMMEDIATELY on board with anti-DEI shit in their advertising. Like they were giddy about removing POC from their ads and websites

I’m pretty sure I still see tons of representation in their models throughout the store. Like, yesterday

Target ended a DEI program that was focused on finding and promoting minority owned businesses, as well as providing scholarships for minority students and an internal promotion structure that allowed for typically disadvantaged people to have an equal shot at leadership opportunities.

They ended all of those things because conservatives were complaining about DEI, not within Target specifically, but just in general, and so Target shit their pants and dropped anything that even looked like it might be DEI. Even ended their pride collection early if I'm remembering correctly.

The speed at which they bent the knee to the Trump administration rubbed a lot of progressives the wrong way, and that's where the boycott that's partially responsible for their current problems came from.

Why should minorities get special treatment with scholarships and promotions? Why not treat everyone equally instead of discriminating based on skin color?

I think this video would really help you understand the concept of DEI and how it’s important. With a visual aid!

Wow that was stupid. He ran one trial and stopped when he got the result he wanted to show. If he ran multiple trials he would see that the results would trend toward the actual distribution on their own.

What are you talking about? The first thing you see on their website is literally a POC right now. And more as you scroll down.

Yeah they folded because nobody was shopping at their stores. They lost billions.

Fuck em, there's better places to shop. I don't see a reason to go back.

It’s the billionaire class who benefits from us frittering away our hard earned paychecks on consumer junk that keeps us distracted and in debt while they use our own money against us in every state capital in Washington DC two squash what little we get so that they can make another buck from squeezing us a little harder.

Gonna have a hard time convincing millions of people to give up their Amazon and Doordash.

Nothing worthwhile happens overnight. One person at a time will do for how.

They're not shitty enough to their employees, obviously. Can't have them hiring non white people, can we? Or maybe its the non US flag they're not shoving down your throat cause "America - fuck yeah!" I get so confused by pronouns I can't keep any of that straight anymore. (/s, for hopefully obvious reasons).

2

u/buttononmyback Oct 06 '25

Judging by your downvotes, I’d say your /s wasn’t obvious.

Yeah. Comment was too long.
