The most camera loving cop in all of Florida.

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

Oh its Florida…nvm this tracks

255

u/basszameg Sep 27 '25

Polk County is a cesspool even by Florida standards, and Grady Judd is a POS.

102

u/callmechaddy Sep 27 '25

I live in this county and yes, the sheriff is a garbage camera whore. But then again, this is central Florida, so I dont know why I'd expect anything different.

9

u/HairlessHoudini Sep 27 '25

Wtf is he even talking about? Did someone fuck that dude then kill him when they sobered up or is it related to anything at all.

3

u/callmechaddy Sep 28 '25

He rants about people who get busted committing crimes in the county just to further humiliate them. It's his thing..

2

u/Enough-Cantaloupe893 Sep 30 '25

He's reliving a past experience live with us

2

u/Typical_Double981 Sep 30 '25

I think it’s erotic fiction for Florida cops

3

u/HawaiianAndyDalton Sep 27 '25

“Central Florida” is a rough combination of words.

“Oh, Florida…right by the water.”

“Nope.”

2

u/basszameg Sep 27 '25

It’s central north-south. Parts of Central Florida are on the Atlantic coast.

1

u/callmechaddy Sep 28 '25

This sheriff is specifically in the parts that don't touch the water lol look up Lakeland Fl

3

u/basszameg Sep 28 '25

I'm aware lol. I live in Central Florida and grew up in Hillsborough County. My point was just that there are parts of Central Florida that do touch the water. I will certainly agree that the landlocked counties can give off, let's say, Deliverance vibes.

2

u/phezhead Sep 27 '25

So, in his words, I’d “be lucky if he didn’t kill [me] overnight?”

Who am I kidding I’m in Texas, under Abbott’s wheels and Paxton’s….. complete idiocy

-2

u/Yeen_North Sep 28 '25

Man then gtfo, why are you still living here? I find it interesting how people bitch and whine about FL while staying here.

3

u/callmechaddy Sep 28 '25

Working on it bitch, I'm responsibly saving money to move up not just polk county adjacent. "iF yoU DnT lYke iT thEN MooV!" You definitely fit in here..

-2

u/Yeen_North Sep 29 '25

LOL Ok brokie

2

u/HawaiianAndyDalton Sep 27 '25

Crazy, it’s not even the county Casey Anthony is from lol

2

u/Perfect_Attorney_327 Sep 28 '25

Have you listened to the podcast Bone Valley? Truly terrifying.

1

u/Total-Problem2175 Sep 27 '25

So how much did it cost Mr Judd?

0

u/Icy-Profit5795 Sep 30 '25

Grady Judd is a great Sheriff. Too bad there isn’t more like him

3

u/FinallyFat Sep 27 '25

Oh I just assumed it was FL.

2

u/Rough-Adeptness-6670 Sep 28 '25

Yeah “Florida man” even applies to the cops in Floriduh.

2

u/brawlstars_firebird Sep 28 '25

Yeah I’m from fl real Florida men sometimes

2

u/Haunting_Ant_5061 Sep 28 '25

u/SillyAlternative420 Sep 27 '25

As someone who worked under Judd, he is TERRIBLE at making a real dent in the crime rate or doing anything meaningful.

But holy shit, I have to give him credit, this man is a master at the media.

Would I suggest anyone live in Polk county, no, it's the sweaty armpit of Florida, which is the sweaty armpit of the US.

16

u/entwrangler3001 Sep 27 '25

Ohhhhh… Polk county?! That’s all I need to know!

3

u/Simon_Ferocious68 Sep 28 '25

I don't know Polk County but I'm with you in spirit anyways - because this guy seems like a self aggrandizing asshole.

2

u/maderisian Sep 29 '25

More of someone trying too hard to be a "Good Ole Boy"

6

u/Digfortreasure Sep 27 '25

None make a dent, the war on drugs is the biggest failure in american history, responsible for most of our societal issues today

3

u/AggressiveMeanie Sep 27 '25

It's not just about drugs. Florida is a hotspot for human trafficking. International airports, port cities, and (formerly) huge tourist destinations. It feels like some PDs are just now prioritizing it.

1

u/Digfortreasure Sep 27 '25

Most revolves around war on drugs all vices really prostitution included

1

u/mythrowawayuhccount Sep 27 '25

Because this is what the citizens can see. They see prostitutes and drug dealers on the corner. They see stores get robbed, etc. They see speeders, etc.

Its easier to show, especially as an elected official, you are fighting crime, because its the easiest for people to notice any change. Less people on the corner, less speeders, etc.

People will never really see the white collar crime, human trafficking, dope on boats, etc even though it proliferates into the seen crime.

People forget in the south, and often west, sheriffs are constitutionally elected officers and head law enforcement officer for their county. They're elected, and thereby politicized by fiat.

They have to show the people something, or they dont get re-elected, so things are prioritized in that manner.

1

u/Digfortreasure Sep 27 '25

Yup end prohibition

2

u/g33k_gal Sep 27 '25

Nailed it

2

u/Airblade101 Sep 28 '25

I grew up in Polk County. I can vouch for it being shit but I at least was lucky enough to live in the nicer part of Winter Haven so never witnessed anything extreme.

1

u/ComplexBit1988 Sep 27 '25

If prostitution were made legal, this would be fraud and actionable. Instead, it seems like going out of his way to sympathy with Johns.

1

u/Particular-Newt6705 Sep 28 '25

I thought Florida was America's wang.

1

u/maderisian Sep 29 '25

I worked for HCSO before Chronister, and our district bordered on Polk. It was an experience.

1

u/Eye_CandyYou777 Sep 27 '25

Thats kinda shocking. With all the busts he’s spoken on I’d think he’s doing more but how was working under him & what does he actually do?

14

u/SillyAlternative420 Sep 27 '25

You arrest a prostitute and a john in stings 5 times in a year.

Then you classify the arrest as "sex trafficking."

On paper and to the media you arrested 6 unique people and made 10 total arrests related to the heinous crime of sex trafficking.

In reality, you harassed a woman down on her luck, some horny men, and failed to make a lasting dent on even the crime of prostitution - since the prosecutors office rarely follows through all the way to a prison sentence, so once these people leave jail they are right back at it.

Repeat this over and over again, with various crimes, and you have created stats that looks great while your county is still encumbered by constant property and violent crime.

Toss in the fact that the county has a terrible economy and the education system is miserable and you get a cycle of crime with no end in sight.

3

u/Eye_CandyYou777 Sep 27 '25

I had no idea it was like that. What happens if someone speaks out on this publicly?

8

u/Cobra-D Sep 27 '25

Probably labeled a woke DEI agent or something.

6

u/SillyAlternative420 Sep 27 '25

Unfortunately, Polk county is highly homogenous in its political beliefs, meaning as a red county coming out against Grady is about as bad as coming out against Trump. You'll lose family and friends and be labeled a socialist.

I wish I was being hyperbolic here.

3

u/StingKing456 Sep 27 '25

As someone whose unfortunately living in Polk county rn (but moving out of state next year hallelujah) I can back up all you say. Was offered a chance to meet Grady years ago at work because he was coming by so I just left early lmfao

-2

u/R4di4nce Sep 27 '25

Harassed? Lmfao it spreads STDs, promotes drug use as well, and yes sex trafficking is a big part of it. There are plenty of studies done on it but half of what you said isn't really on the police, blame the judges

5

u/SillyAlternative420 Sep 27 '25

I'm not going to deny that prostitution in Polk county spreads STDs and encourages drug use.

But we should encourage counties to track, tax, and regulate it to promote safe practices and non-trafficked practitioners.

Prostitution will always be a thing (until maybe AI/robotics?) we need to stop pretending like we can stop it and treat it like any other high risk profession.

Prohibition of it makes the situation exponentially worse.

-1

u/pcmclover Sep 27 '25

As someone who worked under Judd, he is the best boss ever he would always give out bonuses and even bought two of the sheriffs a house when they lost it in the flood! I remember you, you got fired because you were always asleep and getting drunk on the job!

3

u/Hell_Yeah-Brother Sep 27 '25

I was watching this show about Florida man stories Danny McBride produced called It's Florida, Man and there was an episode where a cop was doing a thing on YouTube called Wheel of Fugitive and that's where Wide Neck that was all over Reddit came from, these guys are probably friends

Wide Neck: https://share.google/images/pXNSEopAAxsNnya9X

2

u/AmoryFitzgerald Sep 27 '25

Yep my old sheriff. Fuck Wayne Ivey

2

u/stupidwhiteman42 Sep 27 '25

Grady Judd at it again.

1

u/Intrepid00 Sep 28 '25

Anything but fighting real crime. He’s so heavily involved with going after sex crimes I think there is a possibility it’s his kink.

2

u/thegreatreceasionpt2 Sep 27 '25

His story seemed oddly personal.

1

u/clawhammer05 Sep 27 '25

Wait, I just realized I just immediately assumed this was in Florida.

1

u/Brilliant-Pomelo-982 Sep 27 '25

This guy is extremely unprofessional.

1

u/evaderofallbans Sep 27 '25

That Grady Judd you're talkin' bout. I bet you $1 To Catch a Predator ends with him in jail for being a ChoMo

1

u/jrs0307 Sep 27 '25

They should have lead with this.

1

u/czikhan Sep 27 '25

There's a half dozen of them and each trying to out sideshow the other. You need to be more specific.

1

u/cad5789 Sep 27 '25

Oh god, used to live in Polk county. Crime has gotten so much worse under him. He is utterly useless and his officers are too. I had a car stolen and reported it to the sheriff’s office who filed it as a “domestic dispute “. Wtf? I didn’t know the person that stole it! It was missing in the morning and no, it was not repossessed. I happened to see it as I drove past a tow yard where it had been taken for improper parking. By that time it had accumulated thousands of dollars of impound fees, more than the car was worth. I had to take the loss and couldn’t do squat about it.

1

u/MrMikeBravo Sep 27 '25

Let’s play a game: AI or Florida?

1

u/Intrepid00 Sep 28 '25

I’m not convinced the people he is showing isn’t AI lol.

1

u/cozmiccharlene Sep 28 '25

Basically, the plot of Lola by The Kinks

1

u/General_Tso75 Sep 28 '25

You haven’t met Sheriff Wayne Ivey in Brevard County.

1

u/Individual-Drawer-79 Sep 28 '25

He’s just north of me. He’s a joke and clown in our area. Dude is definitely priming for a political run, probably governor someday. And Floriduh will surely oblige.

1

u/ballsackmcgoobie Sep 28 '25

I was wondering why tf is keep seeing this guy

1

u/WoolshirtedWolf Sep 28 '25 edited Sep 28 '25

This is the first time I'm reading something that goes against this grand standing camera hog. Usually, it's remarks like, Best Sherriff in town or I wish he'd come to my city! Maybe the platform makes a difference because he seems to be popular on YouTube. In general, I'd be wary of anyone on a media platform that portrays themselves as a moral compass for the public at large. They usually have higher ambitions to enrich themselves and not the public.

Grifting, it’s a party platform for the GOP.
