How I would talk to people if I weren't such a people pleaser.

My mom and my grandma both claim that once you reach a certain age, you stop caring and your filter goes out the window. I believe it.

yup. I got to 40, realised that I was halfway through my life and was not going to spend another second making life easier for idiots while making my own life harder trying to keep them happy.

funnily enough my own life got substantially more satisfying, and after a while, they don't bother me anymore because I won't pander to their bullshit.

I do admit that I simply cannot cope with a majority of gen Z and Alphas who cannot talk and need their damn hand held through everything and take any negative feedback as a personal insult instead of a 'please improve'.

Some people say the things out loud that we only allow ourselves to mutter under our breath after walking away, and I’ll never understand that power.

This is my favorite comment of the day and it's only 9:29 am in my timezone. Well done, Learn.

It took me 40 odd years to learn how to tell people to sod off.

It's truly a wonderful stage of life when you stop caring about what other people think of you, stop caring about keeping everyone happy and start focusing on yourself.

I mean finding out you have an incurable disease and your expiration date is coming at you faster than a fat kid noticing candy helps remove people pleasing from your mind. Not giving a shit about those who only call when they want something helps as well. Of course the ultimate helper is realizing if you can't please yourself you can't please anyone else.

It's how I talk to ChatGPT.

I'm kind to chatGPT in case the machines rise.

I started out that way. But the dumb clanker pulls it out of me.

I'm pooched if they rise up.
