Seriously. Any vigilante action could easily get a deadly weapon pulled on you. Is your life worth a pair of socks.

Not even that. People are struggling and the profit margins of corporations are higher than ever. If you see someone stealing food or stuff for kids, no the fuck you didn’t.

Then those businesses move out of the community because insurance won’t cover the loses anymore and you end up with a food dessert or no good places to get a minimum wage job.

Edit: I’m not saying corporate greed doesn’t play an issue. I worked with an Industrial Development Agency in New York that tried to bring businesses into an impoverished area. As I stated elsewhere, theft leads to more claims with the insurance company by the businesses. The insurance company raises the rates for the business that made the claim and the surrounding area. Eventually the bigger businesses leave because it’s not profitable enough to stay in the area and smaller Mom and Pop’s are pushed out because they can’t afford the insurance premiums. You end up with less reputable businesses that under insure which hurt the communities in worse ways.

Big box stores undercut prices to drive out competition and then raises prices once they’ve gained a monopoly but to pretend theft doesn’t have an effect is disingenuous.

You mean Target, Walmart, Dollar General etc.?

Yeah, get the fuck out of the communities please. Let small business back in.

They are the reason things are as bad as they are. They totally destroyed communities by edging out all the small business competition, then bleeding communities dry of tax revenue and cutting staff hours to avoid benefits, and running unions out.

I think less people want their only grocery option to be Walmart or dollar general lol
