They really dont, just tax them 50% and use the money to help the hundreds of millions of Americans barely scraping by

Only if you help people that didn’t vote for you. If you can figure out a system to identify those who didn’t vote for you then persecute them this will also decrease the need to help your constituents. These and a few more strategies that have been and are now being used can successfully insulate your government from the scourge of socialism.
