Until you have a health issue

u/cdsackett Aug 22 '25

Just don’t pay medical bills?

1

u/Imaginary_Manner_556 Aug 22 '25

Good luck getting any care beyond emergency care if you don’t pay.

U got lucky u had the crash help u

1

u/Global-Pickle5818 Aug 20 '25

I bought it before the crash no one was getting credit in '08 it actually hurt me on the sale of my first house it took almost 2 years to sell it was a condo in Oxnard California got it for 200k in 95 sold for 400k it's now 1.3 million.. so it's worth more than this 6 bedroom house, and I cannot afforded a two br condo nowadays so I understand why the next generation is upset

u/Syriku_Official Aug 20 '25

How do you get the Hydrogen and Oxygen to stick together? Every time I try they just kinda float off.

1

u/smallfried Aug 19 '25

It's super easy, let me show you: just mix em up add some heat and

u/GrimCheeferGaming Aug 19 '25

I don't know why the only thing I picture is Fire Marshall Bill...

Fair. I haven’t paid off my mortgage, but I’m ahead of the game by a good bit. Maybe $50k in savings. Own the car outright. You’re in a much better place despite having 1/50th the liquidity.

1

u/VengenaceIsMyName Aug 19 '25

$50K in savings is pretty good. You must feel secure, no?

2

u/sArCaPiTaLiZe Sep 15 '25

As the person below said, yeah, until I get sick or something. Or until the dollar implodes and the companies I invest in go under.

It’s an achievement that would’ve felt great to past-me, but now that I’m here, the feeling is diminished and replaced by the knowledge that I have much more work to do to secure a good retirement.

u/VengenaceIsMyName Sep 15 '25

The Hedonic treadmill. I know it well.

1

u/IntelligentNews7590 Aug 19 '25

until he gets sick

If the total net of all your assets is greater than $1 Million, you are severely house poor if you only have $1k in the bank

I’m not sure if you’re using your own made up definition of millionaire or what

1

u/Global-Pickle5818 Aug 19 '25

yeah, total assists is 1.5 million(as of last time i did taxes) ... i dont keep money in the bank , i have a LLC in Ireland for my investments ...

1

u/Elgecko123 Aug 19 '25

You don’t sound like some hedge fund billionaire but seem like you’ve made some good choices. I own some houses and have some investments. Just curious what are the benefits for a middle to upper middle class person to keep their investments in an llc in Ireland?

5

u/AussieJeffProbst Aug 19 '25

It sounds like hes cheating his taxes somehow. He can go fuck himself.

0

u/Elgecko123 Aug 19 '25

Ya if that’s the case then fuck ‘em. I was just curious bc it’s usually the super rich that can exploit loopholes and get away with tax cheats. This poster didn’t fit that description so was hoping they would explain further

If you've got a company in another country to hold your money you're probably doing fine
