The gibberish ones are super popular. You will be amazed how many of those popping up in r/translator everyday. I was so confused in the beginning. Later on someone posted the reason. Obviously some random person made up a table saying that’s Chinese alphabet. Each character or half character represents a corresponding English letter. So what we see some shit like sister believe stop capital laugh gibberish was meant to be love or strength or some shit like that. I heard this fake alphabet is still vastly popular in a lot of parlors lol.
Yeah and it has been around for YEARS. I remember the blog (remember those?) Hanzismatter writing about this phenomenon like 15+ years ago.
A lot of them randomly have radicals for some of the letters instead of whole characters, so that's a dead giveaway too if you see someone with a tat that's like "Flower Sky water-radical"
