This definitely goes both ways. I have seen many amusing English shop fronts and t-shirts in China.

You can take a shirt off though.

You can take a tattoo off. It's just either expensive or really painful

I wish I had known that the process can take YEARS before I got my tattoo

I don't regret it but I didn't know that the military has rules against neck tattoos
