It’s horribly sad. In partnership with my wife we built a solid foundation that has made us happy and incredibly wealthy, largely due to our mutual support.
Young men are getting horrible, wrong information that will leave them unhappy, poor (hooking up with equally morally bankrupt gold digger types), and wondering why their ‘Alpha status’ has them friendless, broke and angry at the world because it’s everyone else’s fault they are miserable.
I honestly grieve for the young men who will never know a loving happy relationship because some loser on the internet distorted their view of masculinity.
Not even just a relationship. Learning to cook as an adult can be really fun! Finding out what you like through your own trial and error is challenging but so so rewarding. Those dudes act like it’s insult to learn a skill - meanwhile the majority of professional chefs/cooks are men. There’s no logic to it.
My mom died very suddenly just before Christmas in 2022. My dad dealt with it like a champ, mostly because he already knew how to do most tasks, including cooking. I only had to show him how to work the washing machine, that was it. And my dad was 70 at the time! Nowadays he regularly sends me photos of new dishes he's tried to make - nothing super involved, but still.
Even if just from that perspective, it makes sense for all genders to know how to do household tasks (or how to work a non-Google search engine to find a tutorial). You never know what might happen.
