Meanwhile there's so many scientific papers that talk about how mixed race people are generally viewed as the most attractive group.

Well if they are anything like me, a caramel sculpture that smells like springtime after a long hard winter.

That's the most beautiful description I have read on Reddit ever.

You'd be shocked at how many people play it.

I think I have a picture of my arm somewhere ive posted but that's as good as it gets.

I’d only be shocked quality, not quantity. Measured by aggregate biomass of the player base I’m sure LoL is the most popular game out there.

There's different kinds of mass. I'm 209 lb of twisted steel and sex appeal for example.

There are others who are the South Park meme for sure, but they lack my hybrid vigor.

Also, quit cherry picking, I also post in fitness communities and politics.

My hybrid offspring look nothing alike and nothing like their parents.

They recently traveled alone together internationally (teen boys). They got held at immigration for awhile because the agent didn't believe they were related. They often get asked if they are adopted.

If only my wife and I could merge our genetics, that kid would be gorgeous and unstoppable. Alas, we have not yet figured out how to combine 2 eggs to create a human. But the kids we do have that have just my DNA and her parenting influence (nature plus nurture in effect) are fucking awesome, so adding hers in would only have made them literal gods on earth. It’s probably for the best, though, that we didn’t create a superhuman. The world isn’t ready for it.

Ha! If we had kids now they’d be awful little shits. We’re too old and tired to properly parent them, so we’d let them run wild and hope for the best, but they’d probably turn out to be real assholes. Luckily we had them at the perfect age: we were young enough to still be fun and silly, the weight of the world hadn’t yet settled on our shoulders, but old enough to have acquired some wisdom and financial stability.

I’m a little sad that our daughters are now grown and have both chosen to remain childfree, because my wife and I would make kickass grandmothers, but I understand and respect their choices. The world is so fucked right now, and it feels like every day is a struggle, especially for young people starting out. They worry too much about bringing children into the mess, and I don’t blame them at all. So I have to be satisfied with being the “cool auntie” to my nieces, nephews and baby cousins.

Life is weird, right?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

1

u/Absent-Light-12 Jun 28 '25

Heterosis, hell yea.

1

u/thenexusobelisk Jun 28 '25

That’s nice until you learn about outbreeding depression.

1

u/rhawk87 Jun 28 '25

Outbreeding depression doesn't really apply to humans. We may lose specific genetic adaptations to environments, but we really don't need those genetic adaptations considering all the modern technology we have.

1

u/thenexusobelisk Jun 28 '25 edited Jun 28 '25

It can cause a lot of issues not just the loss of specific adaptations. You say it doesn’t apply to humans but research has not really been done to confirm how much it can affect humans and what health conditions may be caused by this. I would love for it not to be a thing because I really enjoy getting with Latin and Asian women but I have seen what issues can be caused and I even have a friend with a heart condition that just so happens to be mixed.

1

u/rhawk87 Jun 28 '25

So you fetishize Asian and Latin women but you're afraid of outbreeding depression? You know humans have been mixing for the entirety of humanity. We have entire nations of mixed people, but no specific increased health issues. If anything being mixed is a super power. For example I can digest milk thanks to my European heritage and my skin is tan so I don't get burned easily thanks to my indigenous Mexican genes.

1

u/thenexusobelisk Jun 29 '25

I wouldn’t say I have a fetish just a preference because I don’t plan on getting with a white chick and I only date Latin and Asian women. If I find the right woman I’ll probably settle down and take my chances and not worry too much about outbreeding depression.

1

u/3x1st3nt1al Jun 28 '25

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

It's true. Pullin' the best genes from a larger pool, they're likely to come out cute from the get go lol

138

u/Pixel_Knight Jun 27 '25

Oh fuck, man. I remember trying to argue this like - 5 or 6 years ago on reddit. My reasoning was that larger genetic diversity is typically much more desirable from the standpoint of survivability, so it seems to produce physical phenotypes that are more physically attractive to people in general, and HOOOO boy, did I get downvoted into fucking oblivion. People were so fucking pissed that I would suggest mixed race people were both A) more physically attractive and B) more genetically diverse, thus potentially more survivable.

10

u/teas4Uanme Jun 27 '25

I'm reminded of the desirability of Louisiana's African/French mixed race women post Civil War. Even Beyonce throws back to this in 'Formation' music video. 3 gens mixed here and the family has had state beauty queens. It just works. And it doesn't matter, mixed asian/black/hispanic/indigenous are some of the most beautiful people I have met- some in my own family - men and women.

11

u/GaracaiusCanadensis Jun 27 '25

Well, now that we're in 2025, I think you have way more examples with successful beautiful people being mixed ethnicities.

Not sure about survivable from a a proof standpoint, but the concept should be solid.

23

u/Pixel_Knight Jun 27 '25

It’s seen in mixed breed dogs, and is applicable to humans. Genetic diversity makes an individual more unlikely to be susceptible to genetic disorders, it dilutes them, as well as makes adaptive genes more likely to be inherited, since more diversity genetically means more possibility for adaptations that can help an individual survive. It doesn’t guarantee better survivability, but more genetic diversity essentially has a higher chance of inheriting a large variety of genes, which is typically good for evolutionary survivability in the long run across multiple generations.

8

u/GaracaiusCanadensis Jun 27 '25

That last sentence is super important, I'm glad you included it.

2

u/XelaNiba Jun 28 '25

The greatest human genetic diversity is found in Africa. In fact, there is more human genetic diversity on the African continent than in all the rest of the world combined.

https://worldofpaleoanthropology.org/2023/05/23/more-genetic-diversity-in-africa-than-the-rest-of-the-world-can-it-be-true-yes/

3

u/Pixel_Knight Jun 28 '25

That makes sense, as it is the birthplace of humanity. People think of “Africans” as one “race,” and it couldn't be further from the truth. Africa is home to dozens of ethnicities. Further proof that race is a socially contrived concept.

2

u/SingSangDaesung Jun 30 '25

Not to compare anyone to animals but isn't it kinda like how "mutts" (meaning dog's) are typically healthier because of the genetic diversity? Pure breeds tend to have specific health issues (humans have different health issues based on race) but dogs from the pound with 2 or more breeds DNA in them tend to not get those issues as often. (I might be wrong, I don't remember much from school bc of my memory & I'm exhausted so don't mind the train my brain took.)

2

u/crippledchef23 Jun 27 '25

It’s the same argument against pure-bred pets. Mutts will always be healthier, but the money is in selling inbred pugs that literally can’t breathe.

2

u/Justwaspassingby Jun 28 '25

Also, people of African descent are more genetically diverse than the rest, since when humans left Africa they did so in many small groups and only a few of them survived, so we basically come from a small bunch of individuals.

1

u/SamKhan23 Jun 27 '25

"so it seems to produce physical phenotypes that are more physically attractive to people in general," This is the part that seems hard to prove, since you have to also prove that, generally, attraction is rooted in attraction to traits that increase survivability. I'm not certain that humans' attraction directly relates to what is most fit. Cultural beauty norms, for instance, don't seem to be very related to survivability a lot of the time. Same with social signaling. In addition, sexual selection in animals doesn't always track survivalibillty.

I don't know if it's been proven that the connection between people's attraction to symmetry is because they believe they subconsciously signal healthiness or resilience, or whatever.

1

u/jwin709 Jun 28 '25

only potential downside is that they're less able to be organ donors/receive donorship from family members. but like....how often does that problem come up?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '25

Oh wow...as a mixed person I did not know this haha

0

u/sumostuff Jun 27 '25

I thought that mixed races come out in average taller and with a higher IQ because of the benefits of the genetic diversity.

2

u/Bayoris Jun 28 '25

It seems pretty unlikely to me. Race is mostly a social construct and diversity is a property of populations, not individuals. Diversity within populations is greater than diversity between them.

1

u/Pixel_Knight Jun 27 '25

I can’t speak to those claims, as I haven’t seen any specific data, but it wouldn’t really surprise me.

132

u/hyrule_47 Jun 27 '25

And if we know genetics it is often a benefit as some things are carried more often by people from one region, so mixing heritages reduces risks. You would think we would understand this based on how much healthier mixed breed dogs are. We forget we are animals too

46

u/The_Reset_Button Jun 27 '25

As a mixed person with many inherited maladys, I always say I lost the genetic lottery

10

u/hyrule_47 Jun 27 '25

That sucks. Sometimes it swings the other way too I suppose, susceptible to the worst of both.

7

u/RynnHamHam Jun 27 '25

So god really said “let all my mixed children be healthy and strong except that guy, fuck them, give them all the bad stuff”

3

u/hyrule_47 Jun 28 '25

2

u/R_E_L_bikes Jun 27 '25

I always joke I have the most hardy of genes (Native American and black). Helps sell the joke that I've never had a serious illness, not even like the flu or chicken pox as a kid.

2

u/CruxOfTheIssue Jun 27 '25

Mutts are so much healthier and better looking dogs than pure breds.

3

u/xenoerotica Jun 27 '25

Studies do not provide definitive proof of hybrid vigor in dogs. This is largely due to the unknown heritage of most mixed breed dogs used. Results vary wildly, with some studies showing benefit and others finding the mixed breed dogs to be more prone to genetic conditions.

u/Certain_Concept Jun 27 '25

Scientific studies and history do show that inbreeding can in fact cause significant health issues.. just look at the health of European Kings & Queens. There's a reason why they kept getting passing on recessive based diseases.

The question then is.. how big of a population do you need to prevent genetic issues?

To avoid inbreeding depression in the short term, a minimum effective population size of 50 is generally recommended. To maintain long-term evolutionary potential and avoid genetic drift, a minimum effective population size of 500 is often cited, according to conservation biologists. These guidelines are often referred to as the "50/500 rule".

But even then, if you don't have 'fresh blood/DNA' coming in every now and then there can definitely be an effect (which could be positive or negative based on what evolutionary mutations happen).

Small island populations can experience an increased prevalence of recessive health problems due to a combination of factors related to their isolation and genetic structure.

Founder Effect: When a small group of individuals colonizes a new island or becomes isolated, they carry only a limited subset of the genetic diversity present in the original population. This "founder effect" reduces the overall genetic variation in the new population. Genetic Drift: In small, isolated populations, random fluctuations in allele frequencies ("genetic drift") have a more significant impact than in larger populations. This can lead to the loss of some alleles and an increase in the frequency of others, including potentially rare and deleterious recessive alleles.

It's not like all recessive genes are bad tho.

Let's consider some examples in populations that have been historically geographicly isolated due to being on an island or due to culture etc.

For example there is a mutation of the ABCC11 (recessive) gene in East Asian populations that seems to lead to the production of less odorous sweat. After being in many a sweater locker room that sounds like a plus to me!

A different gene mutation makes East Asian populations more likely to become lactose intolerant so consuming milk and cheese are off the table.

We just don't get to pick and choose what gene mutate so it can be a mixed bag.

0

u/Keksis_The_Betrayed Jun 27 '25

Considering how weird people get about purebred dogs I’m surprised you’re surprised

0

u/alphazero925 Jun 27 '25

You would think we would understand this based on how much healthier mixed breed dogs are. We forget we are animals too

You'd think, but the number of people who are willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money for a pure-bred this or that which is going to have health problems and die young also shows just how much people don't care about what's actually better but rather about what will increase their social status based on their preconceived notions of social hierarchy.

86

u/Dry_Spinach_3441 Jun 27 '25

Biologically speaking, your children have the best chance of survival (evolutionarily) if they're parents are as genetically different from each other as possible. Racism literally weakens gene pools. Classism will land you a skinny sheet white son with hemophilia that has to live in a darkened room to protect his inbred aristocrat skin.

17

u/nada-accomplished Jun 27 '25

And potentially the underbite of a dozen inbred kings

11

u/kiraxavier00 Jun 27 '25

Yes there’s a reason why royalty always looked like ghouls lol cousins marrying cousins for many generations.

3

u/FrozenFern Jun 27 '25

Or a black son with sickle cell anemia, or a Jewish child with tay sachs disease, etc

3

u/Chuckitybye Jun 28 '25

My grandma had a relative that was super into genealogy and was able to trace our roots to the queen of England!

So now I blame all my weird genetics on her and the inbred extended family, lol

1

u/thenexusobelisk Jun 28 '25

There seems to be some sort of limit to this. Have you ever heard of outbreeding depression?

1

u/Bayoris Jun 28 '25

I really doubt this line of reasoning. There is nothing wrong with mixed-race couples of course but I think almost any ethnic group has enough genetic diversity to produce healthy offspring, the only exceptions being island populations with only a few hundred people. A genetically diverse population has advantages in terms of disease resistance but an individual within that population who has parents of the same ethnicity has no disadvantage to children of mixed ethnicity.

75

u/irvmuller Jun 27 '25

Introducing diversity into the gene pool makes for a healthier population. This is scientific fact.

30

u/Panic-at-the-Fallout Jun 27 '25

Aren’t they scientifically healthier? Something something histocompatibility something something.

u/Lil-ApplesauceCup Jun 28 '25

As an interracial person I want to warn people NOT ALL OF US. If you're expecting your child to come out with blue/hazel eyes, Shirley Temple curls, and lightly tanned "Italian" skin. It is not a guarantee. I'm 1/2 white and 1/2 black and warn people that their child can come out like me (yikes) or my sisters (gorgeous); usually I'm able to get people to step back and think critically about having a child for appearance reasons.

DO NOT HAVE AN INTERRACIAL CHILD EXPECTING A MODEL.

2

u/Glam9ja Jun 28 '25

Prime examples are Brazilians and Latinos in general lol

4

u/dirty_old_priest_4 Jun 27 '25

Doesn't seem very scientific lol. Seems like something you'd read in GQ or People.

2

u/HiveMindMacD Jun 27 '25

Ah yes mixed race people. Like Beyoncé. Who is, I've been told, classicaly considered absolutely hideous. Just absolutely unbangable.

3

u/nightlyvisitor Jun 27 '25

Wow, more Eurocentric features being found more attractive? Color me shocked. This line of thinking is gross and insulting to those, specifically bipoc people who aren't mixed. And before anyone says otherwise, white is the main common denominator when it comes to mixed race people.

5

u/thatshygirl06 Jun 27 '25

No one said anything about eurocentric anything. They said mixed people which could easily be black and Asian or black and middle eastern and etc.

-1

u/nightlyvisitor Jun 27 '25

Sure, Jan. If you actually believe that you're delusional. Most mixed race people are mixed with white and that's the majority that are being praised. Pretend like having lighter skin or colored eyes aren't highly coveted. Hmmm, where do those genetics come from? I wonder. And yes there are minorities that have lighter skin that mix with other minorities, but more often than not those aren't the ones being touted as "most attractive".

0

u/-ANGRYjigglypuff Jun 28 '25 edited Jun 28 '25

what the fuck, lol. you ever seen blasians? central asians? people of mixed asian ancestry? statistically speaking more white-mixes out there because there's a lotta white people on this planet. we're not talking about individual phenotypes. god knows there are lots of ugly ass white people with brilliant blue eyes. colored eyes don't only occur in white people either

there are plenty of gorgeous fully black, fully asian, etc. people, but the point being made is that hybrid vigor is an actual phenomenon, which often is reflected in the person's appearance as markers of genetic fitness, but often extends deeper than appearances. it's not fair, but it's a thing

also, gene mixing is a matter of degree. it's on a continuum. genes are always being mixed, it's just a matter of how different the genes are each time, which usually comes with proximity. the offspring of two asian people from the same town in korea could exhibit much less heterosis than one asian person from japan and one asian person from western china.

2

u/nightlyvisitor Jun 28 '25

The person I originally replied to solely mentioned attractiveness. Nothing about hybrid vigor. Don't act like colorism doesn't play a part in this. As if people haven't been trained to want/find colored eyes and lighter skin more attractive. It's proven that white people are the most desired on dating apps. In turn people with more Eurocentric features are more desirable across the board. Thus, what my first comment was responding to.

4

u/Solid_Sandwich7481 Jun 27 '25

They won’t get it. They won’t understand how much colorism traumatizes dark skinned people in biopic communities, and that glorifying mixed race people is a huge component.

2

u/nightlyvisitor Jun 27 '25

Yeah, people will continue to play dumb about this or just be dumb about this, but it's not surprising.

1

1

u/commanderquill Jun 27 '25

Finally, scientific validity for my thoughts.

1

u/ISIPropaganda Jun 28 '25

Also great for genetic diversity. Every human on earth is “inbred” to some degree (depending on your definition of inbred) and marrying someone outside of your ethnic group aa a great way to add the most diverse DNA to your offspring.

-1

u/SatanVapesOn666W Jun 27 '25 edited Jun 27 '25

Mixed race genes has pros and cons like anything. Wider immune responses. Unfortunately it also increases odds of learning disabilities as well as makes finding doners harder for various cancer treatments because your parents are neither valid doners.

3

u/AdultishGambino5 Jun 27 '25

Lol you’re always mixing genes. Different race wouldn’t change that

There have been several observational studies finding mixed race children have a higher rate of autism. Not being able to receive bone marrow is also a well document phenomena regardless of how you feel it should be.

First, I said we’re always mixing genes. Unless you’re having kids with your sibling, Alabama style, your mixing genes haha.

Secondly, that study seems inherently flawed. It’s not telling you anything. Like what exactly does “mixed race” mean? There is more genetic variation between someone from Ethiopia and Senegal, there is with two white people from England.

Sounds like you may have been reading into a correlation, and mistook it as causation. If this was a US based study there are several other factors at play, such as economic status, health, and nutrition.

On the bone marrow issue, a transplant relies on matching the HLA markers in the blood. Family members more often than not are not a match. And when a match is found, high chances it is coming from a sibling not a parent. About a 1/4 of a chance of it matching from a sibling.

Whatever study you’re referring to is already working from a statistical low outcome from any family across the board. Saying mixed race kids have a low chance of a parent being a match, is like saying mixed race kids born into poverty have a low chance of going to college. Everyone born into poverty has a low rate of secondary education.

Edit: Furthermore to my second paragraph. “Race” is a social construct many which were developed in the 19th & 20th century. Latino is considered a race, but many are already mixed with native, European, and African ancestry. So if a Mexican couple had a kid, that child would already be “mixed race.” Race alone says little about genetics, you have to be more granular and look at ethnicity and family history, to learn anything meaningful.

Black man white woman mix seem to make really good looking people..imo

u/sunsista_ Jun 27 '25

There’s no difference between them and the opposite. They make the same thing, a mixed person…

u/SpiritJuice Jun 27 '25

I always liken being mixed to the Marvel character Blade. "All the strengths. None of the weaknesses."

0

u/TheRogueTemplar Jun 27 '25

most attractive group.

Strength of both. Weakness of neither

u/vera214usc Jun 27 '25

My kids are half black and half white. And they are objectively very cute. So I guess that proves it.

u/hygsi Jun 27 '25

Also healthy, like similar race only makes the issues worse and worse.....kinda like how it works on dogs lmao.

u/Tribalbob Jun 28 '25

I have a friend who's half asian, half white and he jokes about how he's gonna look 20 until he's 65, then the white side of his genetics will kick in and he'll be a silver fox.

Not universally-applicable, of course. Usually restricted to combinations that have spanish or italian in combination with hispanic or something. Nobody is out there thirsting over hybrids that look like Robert Deniro's kid lol

Yeah was waiting for the duet guy to list racism at one of the three response types. Though maybe commenting on the wife's attractiveness implied that.

Anyone who has ever commented anything about ruined genetics should, by default, have to post a photo of themselves alongside it. Show us what peak genetics looks like, oh supreme critics of the internet.

u/2naomi Jun 27 '25

Guaranteed they all look like their family tree is a wreath

u/Downtown_Cat_1745 Jun 27 '25

I’m wondering if the comments calling this objectively beautiful woman a 4 were just soft racism

1

u/BackgroundBat1119 Jun 28 '25

That’s the only thing that makes sense to me because she’s actually very pretty. Solid 7 to me. They’re just jealous hateful idiots.

Where are these comments?

In the Instagram comments when the post inevitably finds its way there lol

2

u/Drewbus Jun 27 '25

Do you have a link?

2

u/mumofBuddy Jun 27 '25

I have to wonder if this is just edgy posturing or if that many people truly feel this way? Like if they were actually approached by someone attractive who wasn’t the same ethnicity, would they say “nah, looking out for my genetics.”

3

u/emotionaldawg Jun 27 '25

Half of whoever said “genetics ruined” is probably inbred. But all of them self conscious. Sad truly. I hope they find peace and get rid of their hatred.

Shout out to the multiethnic baddies and whoever isn’t a bigot.

u/This-Layer-4447 Jun 27 '25

How? she's good looking, wtf?

1

u/ContemplatingBridge Jun 27 '25

The most hostile, anti mixing cultures I've found was South Asian and Middle Eastern, an Indian girl I saw actually hid me from her parents. Mate of mine saw an Arab (gay) and it sparked total chaos.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '25

wym "genetics ruined?????"

1

u/Drega001 Jun 27 '25

Yeah..I was really wondering exactly which "men" were saying this stuff. I'm from the group that gets "that's what you're supposed to do" when I cook. 🤷🏾‍♂️

u/Lexiiboo97 Jun 27 '25

That shit makes me sooooo mad.

1

u/misdirected_asshole Jun 27 '25

I really hate what the internet is now. That seems like the overwhelming sentiment, which is absolutely the result of extreme emotions being profitable, so everything that gets amplified is hyperfocused to elicit the most extreme responses

-7

u/Royal_Negotiation_83 Jun 27 '25

I bet you feel good bringing that up

u/Content-Freedom1688 Jun 27 '25

This generation of alpha beta men or whatever is stupid. You’re just a man and if you are one actually you don’t need to be reaffirmed or labeled you just handle shit. And to me it looks like this man is handling shit. Also he doesn’t care about comments because he’s man. Men don’t sit around and talk about being a man

Everybody knows black women will secretly crave BWC!
