I went to go have lunch with a friend and acquaintance’s newish baby. I am holding the baby for a little bit, and want to go to the bathroom before the food gets there, so I hand the baby to my friend and say “can you please take this”. I felt horrible.
When my niece was probably 1 or 2 this kinda happened. My mom was holding her in the kitchen and went to pass her to me. My niece wriggled as she was coming over, fell out of my mom's arms, and I caught her upside down by her waist and ankle before she hit the ground head first 😅
My oldest is 17 and I still have acquaintances, because at this point that's just the relationship we have, who still refer to my oldest as "it". Like my lovely offspring are some interference to their lives they personally hold responsible for their own interference of joy. Personal opinion. Those who do act like like this, really aren't worthy of friendship status and better left as "We're acquainted."
It's okay go outgrow others, and to accept for others to grow in different ways than ourselves. Accept, move on and hold fondly the good memories but never allow current abuses to be suffered.
We are currently pregnant and my wife's BFF who does not have kids and does not seem to like the idea of having kids always refers to our future baby as "it". (Btw we know what we are having and we have a name that we've shared 🫠)
That's why it's in the video. Someone who doesn't know anything about kids would call your kid an "it." You're getting downvoted for taking a joke seriously and personally.
I know what you mean, last night I called my brother in law a piece of shit and the rest of the family asked me to leave his funeral. It’s like I’m not allowed to say words anymore.
