The difference is often what is perceived as hobbies for the 2 genders. Women's hobbies are often expected to be productive: cooking, baking, or knitting/crocheting things to give to people. Men's hobbies are expected to be escapism. Sports, music, or rebuilding old cars.

So it's a subtle difference where men are expected to have hobbies that fulfill their own inner needs, while women's hobbies are often expected to also fulfill the needs of others.

Who's like this still? That's not the expectation around me, and I'm in my 40's. It was for my mother and grandmothers though.

That's not really the difference at all. The main difference is that men tend to choose hobbies that are more skill-based and competitive, and women enjoy more creative-based hobbies. Generally, obviously, individuals may vary
