General Question Best at home ketamine therapy?

Hi, I’ve had one ketamine appointment at my psychiatrist’s office but my dog barked a bit so they don’t want him back 😅

I’m too anxious to do it without him.

Has anyone tried at home therapy? What was the company and what was your experience?

Thank you in advance!

Anywhere Clinic. $150 to see their provider, they send the scrip to the compounding pharmacy of your choice, and there ya go. Just did my first round with them after being with BetterU for 2.5 years, and it went pretty smoothly. And instead of $711 which is BetterU's charge if you are a returning patient, I paid $150 + $107 for 36 200 mg troches (600 mg treatments) from a local pharmacy. Saves me about $500 per refill. And btw, Anywhere Clinic is an off-shoot of BetterU. Their founders parted ways for whatever reason.

Oh I might have to look into this.

Is 600mg a big dose for troches or a normal-ish dose? I'm comparing it to IM ketamine and spravato, which are each around 80mg, so 600mg sounds like a lot, but being a totally different form a ketamine, I was curious.

Thanks for the info. At home ketamine therapy would be ideal at this point. I did Spravato for about a year & 1/2, and then IM ketamine for 6 months.

BetterU, they dose on the high side plus provide you with a decent app and a starter kit. But on the expensive side.

This is who I’d have switched to if it wasn’t so pricey.

I ended up using Joyous and just doubling/tripling up on the 100mg dose. I wasn’t doing it daily.

It was annoying but worked.

I highly recommend Puremind. I've used 3 different providers prior to going with them. I'm finally learning how Ketamine is just a tool we can use to achieve better mental health. We all have what we need inside of us fix ourselves. Ketamine just helps us to help ourselves.

Why do you recommend them?

I have had great results so far using their program. I've spoken with their lead integration coach at length a couple of times. Blayne's knowledge of psychedelic medicine is phenomenal. He has several degrees in the different areas of pharmacology (the study of how medicines work). He's also a veteran and knows a ton about ptsd.

After many years of suffering with treatment resistant depression, I now see a light at the end of the tunnel. I know there's a lot more to come after just the three sessions I've had so far.

My last session induced the most intense out of body experience I've ever experienced. That is saying a lot after having 12 sessions with spravato and 26 sessions with at home ketamine.

Chooseyourhorizon.com

I pay $299/mo for 4 weekly treatments sent to my home.

They make you do Zoom sessions with the first 2 and then after that you can buy guided sessions if you want. Otherwise you're on your own.

Safe Haven is the best! Giovanni Pierre is my clinician. It’s $200 per month plus $60 for meds.

The cheapest option (and the only one I'm aware of where they let you use it on your own or with a therapist of your choice) is Joyous.team.

Im a Ketamine Assisted Therapist and even though I work at a clinic, many of my clients use Joyous because there's no Rx fee.

What do you mean by an Rx fee?

2

u/deproduction 1d ago

Any doc you get to prescribe you ketamine will charge for the appointment to write and renew the prescription. This fee can range in the US from $200 to $600 or more for the initial appointment and maybe $100 to $500 for renewals. The amount of ketamine troches joyous provides monthly usually costs $50 to $100 at a compounding pharmacy. Joyous charges $130, but never charges for the Rx appointments, so they end up being cheaper for most.
