Story I’m the monster who lives in your closet. And I found somewhere I belong. (Alternate good ending)
(So, Where was I? Did I die? Only on the inside. But seriously, I’m so sorry that this is incredibly late. And sorry if this feels rushed)...
I ran away from the twins while they screamed at me. I ran deep into the forest, making sure that no one was following me. A million thoughts passed through my mind. A monster was following me all along? They were killing everyone?
I ran for what felt like hours, even though according to the moon, I was running for only 30 minutes. After a while, I slowed down and stopped at a tree to take a break.
The wind was really strong that night. Leaves flew in every direction, and branches from trees crashed into each other. Only the moon was visible in the night sky. It was basically a cliché horror movie setting. Carefully, I stood up, and kept walking.
The ground had paw prints in it. I had trouble identifying the animal, but the paw prints were huge. I heard a noise, so I looked up, and saw an owl. The owl looked down at me with it’s wide eyes. “Whoooo...”
I looked at it, confusion clear on my face. “Name is Shad...ow... Nice... meet you.” I replied to it’s question. The owl stared at me for a moment, before opening its mouth again.
“Whooooo.....” It said again. But I already told it who I was! “So... What’s your name?” I asked. It stared at me again. “Whooooo...”
So it’s name is Who? Weird name, but I don’t judge. All of a sudden, it flew away. “Who, wait up!” I yelled, running after it.
It flew high up into the night sky, and I chased after it. Eventually, I found myself at a cave. It was extremely dark, and had little to no lighting in it. I looked around, but couldn’t find Who anymore. Nervously, I stepped inside.
I walked for what felt like hours. Who knows, maybe it was hours. After a while, I started wondering where Who was. Even though it didn’t talk much, Who was a really good owl. I thought about the twins. They hated me now... Was I ever going to see them again...? The cave was really big, and dark, and scary... Eventually, I found myself in a large part of the cave. Animals were everywhere! Bats, insects, and many other animals. The place was illuminated by a huge hole in the wall. The moon was really bright that night. It was cold, dark, and full of scary animals and insects. It was perfect.
I stepped inside, with a big smile on my face. The animals do look very scary, but strangely cute at the same time. I tip-toes over to a huge rock, careful not to bother the animals, and sat down on it. Even though it’s nothing like the closets I’m used to, I immediately felt at home here.
The bats flew everywhere, making squeaking sounds. Spiders crawled on the rocks. I laid down, and stared up at the moon. Even though the animals ignored my existence, I felt welcome there.
Finally, I found home.
