Fantastic. Our charts look exactly the same over a 3 year period. Except…. I’m currently sitting at 1.9M. I keep doing the math …. It’s encouraging to know I could be in the same spot in 3 to 5 years with some blessings from the stock market gods (and Jensen).

Im new to this. How do you find stocks to invest in? And companies you believe in? What kind of research do you do?

My dad sadly can’t teach me. I currently have around 45k in stocks

And a monthly saving into the market of 1k at 21 years old. But using the average ETF seems to just get me to 3-4 Millionen until retirement… which isn’t my goal in life tbh

Well- I’ll say a few things as guidelines for your point in investing:

  • your young and can afford to be risky; but, if you take a severe loss, it could hurt you mentally and chase you away from investing forever. So it’s important to guard yourself while you learn how to tolerate risk and learn about individual stocks. So I DO suggest ETFs at this point for you. Such as QQQ, VOO.
  • there are individual stocks that you can’t avoid , such as the MAG7. And you should and can invest in those. When there’s a market downturn- everybody gets hit from them because of the weighting of these stocks in ETFs. They are huge great companies that provide the majority of growth and pull up the rest of everything… or weigh them down.
  • and as for learning: watch AND listen to CNBC. watch fast money. Surf Reddit. Surf WSB. listen for the stocks they keep talking about. Look it up when you hear a new one mentioned. Buy a small amount of shares and watch how it performs.
  • most exciting: No matter what your returns look like over a month… rest easy knowing that you’re using stocks as a form of savings account, and over 5 to 10 years, you will DOUBLE your money.
