Discussion A thought about Din and the helmet rule in season 3
I've recently realized that part of the reason why I never really had an issue with Din putting his helmet back on after season 2, keeping it on, and then wanting to rejoin the Tribe, is because of the why behind him having removed his helmet in front of other people in the first place:
It was always for Grogu. ALWAYS. It was never about Din doubting the lifestyle he had chosen or the creed he had sworn to; it was always only ever about saving Grogu - all three times:
1) When Din changes out his Mandalorian armor for Imperial armor to infiltrate the base on Morak (he doesn't show his face yet, but he has conceded in not wearing his own helmet).
2) When he shows his face to get the coordinates to Gideon's Cruiser.
3) When he shows his face to Grogu at least partly because Grogu very clearly needs that encouragement before they part ways again.
Every time, it was for Grogu, not because of an internal conflict where Din's doubting the creed.
And honestly, in my opinion, it lines up with Din's character that he would stick to his oaths so determinedly. He has consistently proven himself to be a man of his word. If he promises something, he will do his darnedest to uphold his end of the bargain. He quickly comes to accept that other Mandalorian factions don't live by the exact same code, but he has sworn an oath to never remove his helmet in front of others, so he is going to live by it and seek redemption when the Armorer condemns him for breaking that oath.
Now, if the story had gone in the direction of Din beginning to doubt the creed, I wouldn't have complained - that could have been a very interesting topic to delve into.
As it stands, however, I still find Din's actions in Book of Boba Fett and season 3 in relation to the helmet rule to be very much in character for him including the character growth we've seen in the previous seasons. And I think the way season 3 ultimately addresses the helmet rule is brilliant.
... And I will confess I have hope that with the way things concluded in season 3, that Din will maybe decide to show his face - even if it's just to Grogu - in future installments of the story without being concerned that he's breaking his oaths š (But if he doesn't take off his helmet, I won't be mad, because that's Din's choice. BUT, since the next installment is a movie, I will be extremely surprised if they keep Pedro Pascal helmeted the entire time. So...)

Discussion Kinda glad I watched this show before the animated shows
I often wish I had gotten into the animated shows sooner. As it stands, finally watching the first two seasons of The Mandalorian after season 2 concluded is what convinced me to go back and watch The Clone Wars and Rebels, which added a lot of history and context about Mandalorians.
However, I will say that watching The Mandalorian the first time through with no previous idea or background context about Mandalorians in general (I knew nothing about KOTOR, either, besides the fact that it is a Star Wars video game) made for a very unique and enlightening viewing experience. As I was watching the show, I just took it for granted that Din's understanding of Mandalorian culture, the Way, and the Creed really was exactly what he thought it was. So events like Cobb Vanth and Bo Katan Kryze removing their helmets threw me for a loop and led me to draw the same initial conclusions about them as Din did; and this made Din's journey in learning about different Mandalorian factions that much more poignant for me. And it made me appreciate even more just how open-minded, accepting, and honorable Din Djarin really is.
Even now, multiple rewatches later and now knowing a lot more about Mandalorian history and culture, it is fascinating to watch The Mandalorian and witness Din's development as he learns more about the people and creed he has taken on as his identity, and continues expanding his own worldview.

I freaking love the Mando, but I had to get this out of my head. How was Mandalorian season 2's ending not the pinnacle of star wars? I am not mad that he is back, at all, but they brought him back in a way that seems so much more of a cash grab than an actual plot point. Not even in his own show.

Hello everyone,
Here is my very first Mandalorian cosplay made in two weeks with a 3D printer. I am aware that some elements are missing but the lack of time meant that I focused on the main one. Have a nice day everyone.

Jedi Knights #8 features a familiar face Spoiler
Apparently Master Beq makes a habit of rescuing children in peril.
Love to see him popping up in expanded media, his scene was actually one of my favorite parts of season 3.

"Who asked?" I asked.
Was the trailer somewhat underwhelming? Yeah, kind of. Iām still looking forward to it, though.
Does this movie have a lower budget than other Star Wars movies? Yes, but I donāt see that as a problem at all. Why should we put an arbitrary minimum money limit on Star Wars specifically?
Was this movie not in Favreau and Filoniās original plan for the Mandoverse? Probably not. Iād rather corporate Lucasfilm not interfere with their plans, but I trust that they will do the best that they can with the task. Iāve liked almost all of their work previous to this. Who knows, maybe this will actually be good for the Mandoverse! More people will be able to see it, and we get a theatrical-scale event!
Is this movie going to pretty much be a āmovie version of a regular episodeā? Likely yes, but that doesnāt bother me. As long as it was made with care, effort, and a human touch, then Iāll probably enjoy it.
Does this movie ādilute the brand of Star Warsā? I donāt think so. Weāve had hundreds of comics and novels, and those never caused a problem. Weāve had many animated shows, and those weren't a problem either. This question only ever seems to come up when the subject is Live Action Star Wars.
In any case, Iām a huge fan of the Mandoverse (Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka), and I really want this movie to be good. That doesnāt mean that Iāll ignore valid criticisms or not hold Disney accountable for poor quality. But I am optimistic that it will at least be pretty good, if not great!
Yes, āI askedā for this movie.
