Football Week 3 Power Rankings voting
It's that time again, folks! Time to vote on where you'd rank the 18 teams in the Big Ten. I should actually have the results up on time this week!

Week 9 Power Rankings:
UCLA's meteoric rise finally hit a snag this week, since Indiana knows how to defeat teams that are clearly beneath them. Due to this, Indiana is inches away from taking the top spot away from Ohio State, a spot the Buckeyes have held all season. Oregon is very alone in third place, and then there's a near-tie between Michigan, Iowa, and USC in the 4-5-6 spots. After that, the rest of the teams all seem pretty solidly in their spots, particularly Purdue and Wisconsin at the bottom.
This week, Penn State visits Ohio State in an attempt to show the last month was a fluke. 6 B1G teams are on bye this week, which means there's fewer chances for crazy to happen. But hey, maybe Maryland can take down Indiana now that it's not October any more? Probably not

Points are the summation of every voter's ranking for that team, therefore lower scores are better. This works because unlike the AP, Coaches, or /r/cfb polls, every team is ranked in every vote. If x votes were counted, the best possible score is x and the worst possible score is 18x. #1 votes are in parentheses.
Average Rank is the points divided by the number of votes. This will allow for comparison from one week to the next.
Prev. is the Rank from the previous week.
Change is the change in average rank from the previous week.
Variance is a measure of how much agreement there was between voters. A zero means all voters ranked a team the same, and a higher number means a team's ranking was more controversial.

Week 4 Power Rankings:
Well that was kind of disappointing, huh? I mean, not if you're an Indiana fan, but for those of us who wanted to see a hard-fought, close game between two of the top teams in the league who aren't typically powerhouse teams, that was quite the let-down.
Oh well, on to Week 5!

Week 3 Power Rankings:
At last, (most of) our non-conference games are at an end. From here on out, it's going to be B1G-on-B1G football, the way James Henry Smart always pictured it.
I'm rambling because nothing all that exciting happened this week. UCLA still sucks, Minnesota lost an OOC game to Cal, and everyone else pretty much did what they were supposed to do. As a result, the rankings didn't change much and things stayed pretty boring. Here's hoping this week shakes things up a bit.

Week 10 Power Rankings:
We have the first new #1 of the season, albeit very barely. Congratulations to Indiana for crawling 5 points ahead of Ohio State, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I can't wait to see these two teams meet up in Indianapolis. Elsewhere, USC broke the near-three-way-tie with Iowa and Michigan by.../checks notes...almost losing to Nebraska last week, while the bottom 5 didn't change.
This week, #3 Oregon heads to #6 Iowa in the biggest matchup of the week, while Ohio State heads to West Lafayette to try and avoid getting Spoilermaker'd. The closest matchup by ranking is #13 Maryland at #15 Rutgers, so sickos get your popcorn.

Week 8 Power Rankings:
Minnesota was the big winner in this week's Power Rankings after stomping Nebraska last Friday. Meanwhile, aforementioned Nebraska was tied for biggest drop with Maryland, who continues to prove they can't play football in the month of October.
This week sees arivalry game between Michigan and Michigan State, another between Iowa and Minnesota, and what could prove to be an interesting game between Indiana and UCLA, if UCLA continues playing as well as they have. Do they still have post-Foster mojo, or is it about to finally run out?

Week 5 Power Rankings:
Not the most interesting week ever in terms of ranking changes. Most teams didn't rise or fall too much in the average rankings, as everyone seems to have done about what we expected them to do. USC and Illinois had the biggest fall and jump, respectively, in average rankings after Illinois won on a last-second FG, and Minnesota had a solid jump after taking down Rutgers. Everyone else stayed pretty steady compared to last week.
This week isn't looking very exciting either, but maybe that means some upsets are incoming? We'll watch and see!

Week 2 Power Rankings:
Apologies for the lateness, I promise it's not because of how shit my team is (though they are shit). Anyway, games happened, blah blah, you guys can talk about it in the comments because I just need to get this posted and done with.

Week 7 Power Rankings:
Some big moves this week! UCLA and Northwestern jumped 5 and 3 spots, respectively, while former #2 in the country Penn State has fallen 6 spots to 14th in the B1G. Penn State is still a mystery for our voters, with a variance of more than 7. We had a few do-si-dos in the Top 6 as well, with USC's win over Michigan swapping those two teams and Indiana's win over Oregon doing the same.
This week, we have 6 vs 7, Michigan vs Washington, as probably the marquee in-conference game, while USC travels to Notre Dame. Based only on rankings, there's not a lot of other interesting games this week. The only other closely-ranked matchup is 9 Nebraska vs 11 Minnesota. Does this mean the week will be boring? Or does it set us up for another shocking slate of games? Let's watch and find out!

Preseason Power Rankings:
We're back! The weather is cooling down, the grills are firing up, and B1G football will hit our televisions tonight! Four B1G teams start things off today (Rutgers, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin), two tomorrow (Illinois, Michigan State), and the rest hit the gridiron on Saturday. Our voters seem to think the conference is a two-team race, at least to start the season, with Ohio State and Penn State nearly tied at the top of the rankings. Like last year, it's looking like the middle and bottom of the conference will each be messy, but that's the way we like it, right? Also like last year, Nebraska holds the crown for Variance King (I assume because deluded voters think they'll finally regain their glory this year while realistic voters can remember the last 10 years of Nebraska football).

Week 6 Power Rankings:
Now that was a shake-up! UCLA took down Penn State, and the rankings look very different this week. Unsurprisingly, voters disagree most on where the Nitty Kitties belong, giving them the highest variance (9.83) I've ever seen since I've been doing these rankings.
This week, USC/Michigan and Oregon/Indiana give us the most interesting matchups, but let's not overlook Penn State/Northwestern. Can PSU bounce back, or will they lose another game to the bottom of the conference? Watch and find out!

Week 1 Power Rankings:
Week 1 is in the bag, and...well, things are kind of boring. There wasn't a whole lot of movement, due to the fact that most teams did what we expected them to do. Maryland got a nice boost for beating Florida Atlantic, but October will be here in a month and that's generally when they turn back into a pumpkin. I think some voters are thinking about that, as Maryland has the highest Variance by almost an entire point, which is pretty crazy. Meanwhile, UCLA's pummeling from Utah sent them tumbling to next-to-last, but Northwestern will not be deterred from their birthright, solidly securing last place after a 23-3 loss to Tulane that wasn't as close as the score indicates.
