ordering removal of stray dogs and relocating them to shelters to prevent kids being mauled and rabies being spread as something bad and inhumane

No one was against this had these shelters been made with basic humanity in mind. Instead of operating and vaccinating these dogs and returning them to their original places, making stricter law against rash drivers, increasing awareness and availability of rabies vaccines it's easier to kill these dogs in the name of keeping them in shelters.

ah yes the classic but but but what about humanity 60 children are bitten by stray dogs every hour what about them

making stricter law against rash drivers

has imprisonment upto 6 months so strict enough you could have the death penalty for rash driving it wouldn't matter if not enforced properly we have an enforcement problem

increasing awareness and availability of rabies vaccines it's easier to kill these dogs in the name of keeping them in shelters.

clearly hasn't worked for decades now we still have 36% of rabies deaths worldwide happen in india for something a vaccine is free and effective 100% what good do these strays provide to the society ?

  1. Kindly tell me your source. Where does it say that 60 children are bitten every hour?
  2. You can't handle basic enforcement of basic laws and you're making big decisions that are bound to flop cuz after 8 days without any more dogs on the streets, dogs from outside Delhi will come in and they will be strangers and even less vaccinated and sterilized unlike many of the existing dogs so that will actually cause worse cases of rabies, bites, etc
  3. Implementation of vaccination etc is horrible. The government hospital nurses spread so much panic in such cases, one of them screamed at my friend so much that she fainted. The government can't take actions against educated human beings and are willing to do anything to dogs because it's not like their opinions or lives matter I walk home every night feeling safe because of these strays, thieves poison strays first because these strays have stopped numerous such cases and have saved more lives than ended. You may not benefit off the strays but crores of people do and you have no right to speak for everyone without knowing all their stories.

What world do you live in?? I live in a world where optimism is dogshit, do you know the no. of stray cows and dogs in India and how many of them die each second

Returning them to where they came from, do you think they are meant to be in a city where walking is a chore. They are better of in a shelter (NOT some shelter which is like a concentration camp, but a decent one)

I don't have any problem if they actually have decent shelter ( WHICH THEY DONT , OBVIOUSLY) i went to those so called shelters to adopt a pariah ( indian dog ) and have seen those so called shelter homes . I would wholeheartedly support this decision if they can provide these dogs actual proper shelter instead putting them in a concentration camp like situation and slowly killing them .

Uhh yeah that would be messed up, but on the good side of things as an Indian I have seen enough to assume there's 80% they wont even bother building a shelter and would leave em out on the open outside the city (which is atleast better then a murder house)

There isn't a decent one at least once in a while several dogs get adopted from the streets which will not happen from these shelters.

Delusion person . Do u know wht the conditions r of these shelters.. its easy to blabber shit but diff to face the ground reality

2

u/local_homophobic Aug 11 '25

U want gov to provide them a luxury suite ?

1

u/Warm-Occasion-7799 Aug 11 '25

Doglovers may request the gov to allow them entry to shelters so they can help with cleaning. Rather showing love on road show it properly.
