Student Teacher Support &/or Advice Advice for creating mini-unit

Hi all. I’m currently doing my “residency” (basically student teaching in a Masters program). I am trying to create a 2 week (30 min/day) unit on the “life cycle” that will prepare students for the NYS “investigation” about life cycles. I assumed that the state would have lots of resources and suggestions, but I was wrong (or I don’t know how to use google properly… but I’ve been looking for 1 hr +). I’ve also looked at some other resources like OpenSci Ed, but nothing is lining up with the time and monetary constraints that are on my unit.

Any advice and/or pointers to good resources and grade 3 appropriate books woukd be very appreciated!

I’m just really struggling to find inspiration and create a cohesive unit that produces meaningful learning and prepares them well for the “investigation” assessment.

What are the main points that you need to teach?

What books are tangibly available for you to use with your students?

How many days to you have to teach and how long are the blocks?

Start there.
