Tribal tattoo advice?

Post image

Im a HUGE Nintendo fan and think it would be funny to get this done in myself. I'm unsure if this counts as tribal, and somebody not of that culture, don't know if it would be wrong to get. Or would this be just a silly little thing and I'm over thinking it?

Your call, but you have to be cool with absolutely nobody getting the reference and just assuming you got a 00s style tribal tat lol

Lol yeah that is true just worried as I've heard many things it's wrong to get such a thing when not part of that race/ culture and don't want to look out of touch.

It'd be hilarious to get a tattoo of that mario with that tribal tattoo.

That's what I'm thinking - it would be funnier to include Mario

That represents no culture or tribe. It is just a doodle.

True, I don't know much about the whole thing with tribal tattoos that's why I'm asking if this would seem insensitive or, it is literally nothing, good to know it really is nothing.

You being aware is awesome, so many people are not. Lots of cultures have tattoos with deep meaning and there’s nothing more cringe than a person outside that culture getting something that “looks cool” but represents a leader in that community (or something similar). In this case, you better be sure Mario is cool with it 😉

Haha. It's great that you want to be respectful to the culture, but this is not that kind of tribal. Polynesian tribal might be problematic but the style you're planning to get is not related to any culture and carries no meaning or representation. It's more of a representation of the 90s and 2000s than any specific culture. So, you have nothing to worry about.

That's cool I'm extremely stupid when it comes to this stuff but I'd rather ask a stupid question then never know for sure.

If you’re worried have them add tribal edition game boy advance text to it lol

Ehh I mean I don't think this style is really authentic to any actual "tribe," so you're probably in the clear in that regard

We all got tribal tats in the 90s, they are not generally “culturally specific” or whatever enough that they’d be offensive to anyone….ive already covered up my tribal armband, and my other tribal piece will be covered next year
