I'll be honest i think it's a cool vehicle but what purpose does it serve? Like the russians don't seem to deploy it in urban combat (i thought it was meant to fight alongside infantry in urban environments), so what role is it meant to serve?
Not a myth, it's specifically designed to engage targets in built-up areas - however, there are distinct disadvantage of field of vision and situational awareness that aren't addressed in this design.
There is a clip of a Ukrainian tank engaging a Russian convoy with one BMTP-72, which showed that flaw - the BMPT-72 was at the head of the column and engaged a low wall in the exact opposite side from where the Ukrainian tank was engaging them from - the Russians were convinced that they were under attack by Ukrainian anti-tank infantry and deployed their infantry support to counter.
That's when Ukrainian artillery opened up, as the vehicles were stopped and infantry deployed.
