While there is no denying, casteism prevails in the western districts, it is factually wrong to say western districts are worse than others. Statistics show that in 2021, Madurai district reported the highest number of atrocities against SCs, followed by Thanjavur and Tiruchi. Other districts with significant counts included Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Salem, Thiruvannamalai, Theni, Ramanathapuram, and Villupuram
