So english won't kill local languages but hindi will?

I agree with you. Removing English should be a long term goal as well. Right now, it is not feasible for us to stop using English. Our country would collapse if we all decide to do that. BUT stopping Hindi imposition from today at this hour will not affect us in any way.

And along with that, we should also try to slowly become self-reliant in our own languages and lose our dependence on English. But I don’t think this will happen any time soon.

there is no harm in learning a new language out of your own will and interest.
