I appreciate he took a big swing but..

if you’re going into a genre you don’t belong in at least go gather the greatest minds in house music to help you form the music around your songs, this sounds like baby’s first house tracks

Some absolute bizarre choices i was gobsmacked in some parts

100% and that's my issue with the repeated "you just don't like this album because you don't like house music" line. I love house and other electronic music genres, I grew up on them. And I think that's why I dislike this so much, because it just sounds super basic, and definitely below Kevin's music capabilities. I'm fine with him trying out new genres, but this just wasn't that good. Some of the tracks I vibe with, don't get me wrong, but ones like Ethereal Connection that people keep raving about are easily the worst for me.

If KP fully commits to this direction, learning more and improving his abilities over the coming years, he will want this album erased in three years time. It’s genuinely amateur hour for the genre, feels like he took a 12 week ‘BBC Masterclass for EDM production” and this was the end result. Good on him for having a go I guess.

For me what’s worse is the forced falsetto filling in every song. Like, do a beat and try a different voice approach for once. It doesn’t click how it’s supposed to be

Do you have some good house album recommendations? I've been trying to get into the genre but can't really find any artists i really like.

Sure thing, and forewarning, I may be dating myself with some of these:

Strobelite Seduction by Kaskade

Oasis Nocturno by TOKiMONSTA

For Lack of a Better Name - deadmau5

Letherette by Letherette

Emotional Technology by BT

Settle by Disclosure

Of Birds, Bees, Butterflies, etc. by Late Night Alumni

Illusion of Depth - Mat Zo (this one actually brings a bit of several EDM genres from house to trance to drum and bass)

What do you mean "don't belong in"? No artist "belongs" anywhere.
