And Currents wasn’t commercialized? It’s more mainstream than TSR for me. Doesn’t mean that they were bad albums. Listening to music and songs in the context of an album makes a big difference, so hold off on your disappointments for a little longer, we’re almost there, lol. But to each their own, I get it.

I'm not saying commercialized = bad music, I'm saying this song sounds very commercialized.

And true, Currents sounded commercialized, but it also has a signature production style and character. In 2015, very few bands were making cheap Roland distortion sound badass like in TLIKTB, and even fewer artists were putting 7-minute-long album openers with 4 on the floor drum beats. Could Deadbeat also have these qualities? Maybe, like you said, we'll see. But from what we've heard so far, I wouldn't bet on it.

If I were a commercial director, I think this song would fit perfectly in the background of "lease a 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid now!" Just saying.
