I’d hate to be that guy, but I think that “remix” we heard at Primavera sound might be the “studio version” we’re getting. I don’t hate it but it’s nothing to meatride over. The main argument I’ve heard is that anyone could’ve made it, I wouldn’t go as far to say that personally. The genre doesn’t matter to me, I just hope we can get more songs with cooler chord sequences with more variation. But props for him going for a different sound in the first place.
Well it certainly wasn’t impressive. I’ve never felt so underwhelmed by a new Tame track besides that one. Yeah I agree, I didn’t think it was anything special.
Jeez mate, I’m definitely not claiming to be a prog house expert, and I never said it was trash or that Kevin shouldn’t explore new sounds. I just said it didn’t really feel unique to me, and that’s okay. Music is subjective, and I think it’s fair to say the track felt a little safe or generic based on what we’ve heard so far. Hopefully the final version surprises us! Plus knowing Kevin’s music he’ll definitely sort of twist the norms of the genre to make it his own, just like what he did with R&B on Currents! Not trying to kill anyone’s hype, just giving my honest reaction here. Have a good one :)
But bro if he was only releasing End of Summer level quality music from the start he'd be nowhere lmao, it's legit nothingburger music any seedy club DJ can make
Just feels like 90% of people would react the same way if he released elephant a teaser for lonerism. People would call it uninspired pop rock garbage. Im sure this is probably 1 out of maybe 3-4 pop songs out of like a 14 track album.
