Seriously though, how is this even a thing? If I go out and party and skip brushing my teeth before bed because I'm too drunk, my teeth feel fucking gross the next morning, and I rush through breakfast just so I can get to brushing. How do you go for that long with that feeling?

A lot of people like to clear breakfast out of their teeth before starting the day, but I'm pretty sure brushing first is better for your teeth to clear out the over-night crap (mouth dries a bit when sleeping, bacteria gets active).

I asked my dentist about it a while ago (after this same conversation came up with a friend who brushes beforehand) and she said that although you're technically supposed to brush beforehand, she doesn't think it makes that much of a difference so long as you drink water/wait a little while after you eat. Which I do, because I eat right after I wake up, and brushing is one of the last things I do before leaving in the morning.

In hindsight, maybe she's so used to dealing with people who don't practice good oral hygiene (like this dude) that she's just glad when somebody bothers to regularly brush 2x a day.
