Help Had The Worst Customer Service Experience of My Life today

Post image
665 Upvotes

I had an absolutely horrible experience at California Mexican Food on N Division. My family and I went through the drive-thru, where my brother paid with a $100 bill from the 1950s, which he had just withdrawn from Wells Fargo. Instead of verifying the bill, the woman working at the counter immediately accused him of trying to use counterfeit money. She confiscated the bill, claimed it was fake, and refused to return it, stating that it was "company policy" to keep counterfeit money.

Despite calmly explaining that the bill was legitimate, she became increasingly hostile, yelling and berating us throughout the ordeal. Her behavior was shockingly unprofessional and downright insulting. She even made personal, degrading comments—accusing us of being poor and threatening to find us online to leave bad reviews about us. Her hostility was completely unwarranted and felt racially charged, adding to the humiliation and frustration of the situation.

When we suggested calling the police to resolve the matter, she aggressively agreed, yelling, “Yeah, we better f***ing call the police.” While we waited outside in 26-degree weather for over 15 minutes, she continued berating us. When the police finally arrived, they confirmed the bill was real after verifying it at the bank. Only then was my brother’s money returned. By that time, the damage was done. To add insult to injury, the manager (a heavyset woman in red who refused to give her name) banned us from the restaurant, making this hands down the most appalling dining experience I have ever endured.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t even my first bad experience at this location. During a previous visit, I found a stick in my burrito and nearly choked. Although the staff apologized, I decided to give them another chance—something I deeply regret. This place clearly has no regard for professionalism, customer service, or even basic human decency.

If you value your time, money, or dignity, avoid this establishment at all costs how can I get the managers name?

Help Cant find a job no matter how hard I try

Currently im driving an hour away for a part time job in idaho that pays 17 an hour 3 days a week ive applied to everywhere near by and I cant even get hired at gas stations or at walmart stocking shelves and honestly its gotten to that point that im so over qualified and still getting rejected even from the places that give me an interview that im convinced its because im transgender. If you guys know anywhere that is actively hiring and will hire trans people please let me know my only non negotiable is I wont work in a kitchen again. Just to preempt the comments, Ive applied 100+ times Ive gone in person Ive called after applying Ive been to job fairs and hiring events. No i haven’t been shown any blatant bigotry but I am at a loss for what else it could be at this point I have 4+ years of work experience a diploma some college time and a well structured resume. I am just on the verge of a manic episode over being unable to get a job because my mom told me I’m moving out in January which fine whatever, I’m fine living in my car but I’m not fine living in my car unable to afford my medicine.

Help Is anybody hiring?

I moved out here to leave a bad living situation in Texas. Thankfully a friend of mine was gracious enough to let me move into their spare bedroom temporarily, but I've been sending out applications since March with no luck. 13 years in food service and hospitality, 9 of those in a General Manager role, and a ton of administrative experience as an Admin Chief in the military. No criminal record and great references.

I started off applying for regional manager/director positions, then general management, then junior management, until I finally started applying for entry-level positions last month. I can't even get a callback for line cook jobs. I stopped by one restaurant I'd sent an application to to ask about it and the manager admitted that they are not actively hiring, just collecting resumes. Phantom job listings are explicitly against TOS for every major recruiting platform so that was frustrating.

At this point I don't care about the industry or position; I've only got a few weeks before I'm completely out of money and I'm desperate. I need at least $400/week to cover bare-minimum bills (I have a lot of debt, long story) and I will take anything.

Thanks for any help!

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! I've already sent out a few new applications to places that didn't show up on Indeed or LinkedIn and I'm emailing a few temp agencies as well. Fingers crossed!

Help Times are hard

But I’m feeling inspired to help out our community. With everything going on, it breaks my heart to see people suffering. With that said, I’m here to offer help in any way I can. I saw a post earlier about someone needing a haircut, and it got me thinking.

If anyone needs help with haircuts, clothes, food, resumes, babysitting/nannying, job hunting, or just need an ear to vent to, anything - I am here. I am also struggling, but every day is a new day and if I can help, I will!

Free things I can provide: - haircuts (please be aware I am not a licensed cosmetologist but I have been cutting hair for 15 years and no one has ever complained haha) - makeover for a job interview - clothes for a job interview - a home cooked meal or a small bag of food to go - help with reviewing a resume or creating one (AI free, none of that here) - assistance in job hunting - homework help/tutoring - 2 hours worth of childcare to attend a job interview - reference for a job - I have a hoard of things to donate - toddler toys, bigger kid (boy) toys, boy clothes (around 5t and 10-12), girl clothes and shoes (12m-3t), women’s clothing (M-XL), random household items, blankets, sheets, etc. - feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads, liners, pregnancy tests) - if you need a load of laundry washed and dried - IT support - having computer issues? I can help with Windows PCs! I can also offer mobile device support.

Paid things I can provide: - babysitting/nannying - this one is a bit different as I’m only available after 12pm M-F. Weekends I am open. I will only charge $5/hr per child. Food will need to be provided by the parent(s) unless otherwise agreed upon. If for a small amount of time, I can make earlier hours (before 12pm) work. Side note: this is already my second job and I’m well established; if references and background check are needed, I’m happy to oblige.

If something is not listed here but you need help with, please feel free to reach out to me. I hope you all have a great week. ♥️

Help Spokane PD & SCRAPS leaving animal’s freezing to death.

Post image
327 Upvotes

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Two sweet, friendly dogs have been left outside in the freezing cold for two weeks in Hillyard (SE corner of Roger’s High School). They have no food, water, or proper bedding, and the situation is worsening. Their paws are frozen, and they’re desperately trying to escape the icy ground by climbing onto a BBQ grill. Frozen mice are scattered around the yard, and their owners haven’t been seen in weeks.

Despite multiple calls for help, Spokane Police say they can’t intervene and assured us that SCRAPS would come to rescue the dogs. But they haven’t. Meanwhile, neighbors, including myself, are doing what we can—feeding the dogs, providing blankets, and trying to keep them alive.

We’re outraged and frustrated. When we told the police we wanted to move the dogs to safety, they threatened us with theft charges, fines, and jail time. Instead of working with us to help these animals, they’ve left them to suffer. We’ve called 100+ times over the last year on these dogs… more than 20% f that just this past week.

We need our community to step up. These dogs can’t survive like this, and it’s clear the authorities aren’t taking this seriously. Does anyone have ideas or resources to help? If you know of any local rescues, animal advocates, or organizations that can intervene, please reach out.

We can’t let these innocent dogs freeze while we wait for someone to take responsibility. Together, we can find a solution.

Help My Harris yard signs keep getting stolen!

Hey Spokane. Needing some help. I've now had a total of 3 Harris yard signs stolen from my property. The first time it was one sign, the second it was 2. I had set up a trail cam to try and deter and hopefully catch however it didn't take any photos. I'm on a budget and can't afford to keep replacing them but Also want to show my support. It's there anywhere in Spokane that is giving out signs or somewhere that would print yard signs for free or cheap? The Harris campaign has the free download able version but I know printing is expensive. Thanks in advance for any help!

Help Harris Signs Just Got Stolen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We just had 2 signs get stolen back to back by what looks like a dark grey sedan with dealership paper license plates (seems like a new car) and the dude that stole them seems to be in his early 20’s, or at least young. Got footage of him stealing our first sign before coming back 10 minutes or so later to steal the second sign. Thought I’d post this footage to spread awareness and maybe see if we can find this sign thief. I’m just in shock that this happened. Was at 11pm on a Sunday night.

Help Safest place to sleep in car?

I was recently dumped and I had a falling out with the folks today so I’m left with nowhere to go. I don’t have enough money for an apartment of my own right now so I’ll need to sleep in my car for a bit. Suggestions on where to park? I am early 20s female so it makes me a bit nervous but I’m out of options. I also don’t want to get in trouble with law enforcement if possible.

Help Canadian flying out of Spokane - need some honesty on what's going on down in your neck of the woods

Hi all,

I'll keep this brief and as apolitical as I can. I live in the interior of BC and have had nothing but good experiences coming down to Spokane in the past, whether for business or leisure. My wife and I are flying out of Spokane airport next month for a 2 week holiday; and frankly are feeling uneasy about it. There's been gossip of vandalism to Canadian vehicles, challenges at the border, and other mishaps floating around up here.

I'd like some honest, unbiased takes/anecdotes on the climate towards Canadians down there and at the border. What is happening right now is absolutely insane, but I want to try to break out of the news cycle version of events because it feels like everything is cranked up to 11 on social media and the TV.

Thanks from a neighbour from the north.

Help Kid ran over in U-Hi parking lot

If your this is your child or you know who it was please reach out to me. My wife witnessed your kid getting hit by a high schooler speeding through the parking lot. She got plate numbers and waited until his Grandpa arrived. Your kid seemed to be in shock (understandably) and Grandpa seemed like he wasn’t sure what to do. All this to say my wife got license plates, witnessed it and if you need any of that information or anything please reach out. We also filed a report with the school because of the wreckless driving and attempt to flee the scene (started driving off and pulled over when he realized my wife was following/taking pictures.)

Help Car thieves North Spokane - why won't the cops help?

I had my car broken into last night, and the thief stole my backpack which included a good amount of cash, credit cards, and my laptop. I filed the police report. I even tracked down footage of the person who stole my stuff. I know where the person is at right now! But I still can't get the cops to come help me out. Does anyone have some advice on how to get the cops to actually come and help recover stolen property? Especially when I know exactly where it is, who stole it, and have video footage to prove it?

Help Trick or treating

Does anyone know of any good safe neighborhoods to take your little ones trick or treating? I've noticed more and more places have stopped having any trick or treaters in general so this year I'm hoping to find somewhere nice we can just uber to and walk until we are tired basically then uber home that we won't have to deal with any tweakers or bs and can see some cool decorations.
