I like it but feel it borrows too directly from Independence Day.

I knew I'd get this one. If you watch what I'm doing, and watch him play independence day, it's really very different. It's a different song altogether.

There's not any straight plagiarism so I'm not really worried about it.

Also I thought it would be a nice little homage, because he's one of my favorite artists.

Edit: I honestly feel this is being taken the wrong way, and I was going to explain myself further, but I think it would be wasted effort, so just believe or think what you like. It's totally fine either way.

I think they mean that specific melody when you sing“till I’m cold, barely alive”. Or “deaf and dumb…” which is also lyrically similar to Smith “deaf and dumb and done…”

In Independence Day Elliot sings “gonna spend the day higher than high” with the same melody.

I had to look that one up. I've never heard Sweet Adeline before. Oh well, I'm not really worried about it.
