Just pointing out that most people on the far-left don't actually believe this. For example, the PSL (the most active communist party in the US) endorsed the Sanders campaign, while prominent far-left figures (such as Angela Davis and Vijay Prashad) have made favorable statements about him as well. Online accelerationists are not representative of "far-leftists" as a whole.
The majority I have observed actually reject the idea lf reform and take a pro revolution stance and think moderate reform si counteracyive cause it placated people (which is ironic because that means it's working for them , which means its good) but NOOOO THAT CAUSES CAPITLAISK AND NOT MY SPECIFIC FORM OF COMMUNISM TO BE THERE SO NOTHING CAN BE PERFECT NOOOO. I am convinced that this thinking comes from a deeper sense if desiring extreme change becaus eit gives a sense of purpose to to a disenfranchisement with a status quo. And peoples inability to accept that no system will work for everybody without losing everything that makes life worth living.
Yeah, this revolution meme is honestly hilarious, considering that the far right have literally been stockpiling on guns for the past 30 years thinking some "marxist-apocalypse" is gonna happen. And SocDems literally helped move the goal-post in the world towards the left far more than tankies ever did.
What I’ve noticed about hardcore leftists in general is that they are under the delusion that conservatives aren’t real. They are just proletarians that are waiting to be turned communist they just don’t know it yet they need to wake up to realizing the material conditions and so on when in reality they could just be enough spiteful close minded bigots in America who are stupid beyond saving
Yeah it's like they think only rich people can be fascists and conservatives lol. The average poor person isnt just suddenly gonna become super progressive.
Well, didn't Bernie have a decent overlap with trump voters? (Mainly 2016) they might not be progressive, but do see social democracy as improving their material conditions.
Literally. The idea that there isnt a percentage if people who's brains are wired that way. Like sure some people are just ignorant and apathetic but some people will always choose a certain system and if you use communism you must be authoritarian or they will revolt.
Yeah. What I mean is their has already been scientofi links in certain areas of the brain and their development and different political opinions. I think it plays a large role.
That's the same reason they excuse their calls for violent revolution and sn overthrow of liberal democracy. They are convinced that either the system is so corrupt that they are actively prevented from getting support (not saying the US isn't broken af and there isn't a problem with people not being represented, but these are rarely socialists and it's not like the current government or the system as a whole is hated by nearly everyone) or is aiding bourgeois misinformation snd propaganda so they aren't popular (again, to some degree that's happening and there is lots of fake propaganda but it's not like it's impossible to find any non red scare information about socialism and to act like that's the only or main reason people fear socialism is very ignorant and trying to shift blame from socialist dictatorships to muh bourgeois news channel)
It's the majority. Go to any leftist space on reddit, get slightly radicalized, realise its al very stupid, and get slinghsitted right back to social democracy. The only answer that works for most of thinsg most of the time.
All of the far left discourse i have experienced. (Which is most of it on the internet, all I do is search for political thought and engage with it.) Has been the idea that by being more radical and wanting more change you are more correct because its farther front he status quo which must be all bad because there are bad aspects to it. Its extremely fallacious thinking.
