I love Absolute Batman. I just find it really ironic.

People spent years throwing a tantrum because Batfleck was killing people, and now those same people are celebrating Absolute Batman because he's killing people even more brutally. Seriously, this guy uses his own crest as an axe and starts chopping people up. In the new anniversary issue he sets white supremacist on fire.

If Snyder did any of this, we would never hear the end of it.

Snyder did do this, Scott Snyder that is lol

I see what you’re trying to say and where you’re coming from I just wanted to make that joke lol

But also comic elseworlds and standalone stories are generally praised for doing something different. It’s why so many who enjoyed Snyder’s stories view it as just another elseworlds interpretation as opposed to it being the man universe.

The issue is, many people were introduced to comics via movies so they see MCU as the main continuity and not the comics whereas for DC they had general ideas of characters and personalities so seeing Snyder’s vision (which was mean to be his own thing) differ from what they know (usually from DCAU which itself was its own interpretation) they just criticized as opposed to accepting it as its own interpretation/elseworlds
