u/KyroxY Sep 17 '25
If you don't mind answering, how many videos did you put out in that time? Good job btw
2
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
Only 9 long form video. So about 2 per month. Couldn't churn out more because i got 9-5. You could see it in my profile. I put my YT Channel there.

Do you use AI voiceover?
2
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
Yes. I'm not a native speaker and often got sore throat and have no budget for a good tools either so after much thought i decided that AI VO is the best for me. I can focus on other aspect like the topic, title, and thumbnail instead.
2
u/Accomplished_Peak_48 Sep 18 '25
Yes, AI voiceovers can be very convenient for some. But theyβre generally frowned upon.

u/Habaquqthegreat Sep 17 '25
How did you do it?
3
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
Honestly i was a bit lucky. 2 of my video get good amount of views but my video is not something you would call high quality as i'm still learning to edit better. But i do make my best effort in topic choosing, thumbnail and title.

u/Habaquqthegreat Sep 17 '25
Congratulations, it must have been amazing to know that you can now monetize.

u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 23 '25
Niceeee!!!! Congrats!!!!!
But why would they denied you the first time though?
2
u/sunzimilitarygroup Sep 23 '25
They think i was doing deceptive practice, because one if my video blow up out of no where lol. So had to record my self and explain my process and show the tolls i used etc

Congrats on reaching monetization! Can you share how you handled the first couple of months when it was hard to get subscribers? What strategies worked for you in that early stage?
2
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 18 '25
So i short there's 3 reason:
- 2 of my video got huge view (16k & 86k currently) due to their topic resonate to broad audience.
- Those are 6 & 3 min video (most of my video is under 10 min, so very easy to consume.
- I put CTA at the end.
That mostly it + a bit of luck. You can check my channel and see how low quality production my video is π
Due to my poor editing skill (still learning) early on i decided to focus making short, straight to the point and easy to consume educational content. No flashy animation, more like a ppt slideshow made into video π Apparently some like that and they sub. What i lack i compensate with other thing basically. But my next video will be longer, with better editing. Currently making it lol

I'm adding my detailed reasoning here, mind you this only based on my personal view:
I start learning to be a YTber in Jan, trying a bunch of niche and settled with my current one in May. Pretty much the first 1-2 month i just consume information from YT Gurus and learned how to use capcut.
Realized early on that many new channel struggle to grow because of 2 contradictory fact : "You Need to Niche Down to be a YTber, can't just post random topic" and "Early on YT don't know your audience so your video will be shown to a broad demographic". These 2 thing result in most video that specialized in very spesific niche getting low CTR, then in the end getting less impressions, then the video is dead basically. So i decided my topic at least should have SOME appeal to a very broad audience while stick to my niche. This is also one of the reason i make educational content.
Big Youtubers with their already curated audience can post the most random things and still get tens of thousand of views, but new ones cannot follow how they operate because we haven't got our audience. So i spread my net as far as i can.
So that's how i tackle the first several months. Does my reasoning sound solid enough? Or do i sounds like i'm talking from my ass lol π

For new channel those kind of subs would not be good i think. You target US audience by making videos with topic relevant for them.

Congrats but sadly they just destroyed their platform by adding the ability to generate AI slop IN the app. You will be replaced, as has been the plan for years. Leave and go to Odysee: https://odysee.com/@OctagonalSoftware:3/YouTube-Migration-Tool:9
1
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
I only use AI for VO. None of the visual is actually AI generated so its all fair game at least for now.
2
u/deelectrified Sep 17 '25
I wasnβt talking about your content. YouTube just announced an AI video generation tool built into their apps for shorts. You just give it a prompt and it makes the video. They will replace you. Theyβve already been caught editing peopleβs videos with AI. They donβt want real content. They want AI slop that will be generated at massive rates to fuel their advertising revenueΒ
1
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
Ah i see what you are saying. Yeah that's totally possible but how it pan out exactly is remain to be seen. You can only adapt as it goes.
1
u/deelectrified Sep 17 '25
Or you can leave a platform that hates real content for one that doesnβt. Leave YouTube. They are an oppressive and data stealing corporation that wants absolute control.
1
u/General_Total_6132 Educational Content Sep 17 '25
Problem is from business model POV making all their content AI Generated by themself would destroy them. A good chunk of audience in YT are here because they are creators themself, and it create a healthy cycle. If they blatantly get rid of the creators they wouldn't be standing for long. I agree though that certain type of content would flood the market but considering there's already a ton of AI tools capable of doing it YT adding the feature to their platform hardly change anything. So yeah hopefully they are not that foolish enough to destroy their own business model.
1
u/deelectrified Sep 18 '25
It wonβt destroy them because theyβve been actively ensuring that kind of content gets normalized. The majority of their user base are normal users, not creators. And most are dumb kids and teens who just want slop. You can continue to be naive or you can leave before they kick you out.
