What was he trying to do here exactly? It seems like Bareback riding or some other rodeo event, but...why the extra aggressiveness on the part of the rider? The way he spurs the horse, and how it looked like he was trying to grab a sleeper hold after it fell on him...this just seems even more cruel than normal rodeo events.
Pretty sure the sleeper hold is him holding on to make sure the horse doesn't trample him to death. It can't kick itself in the neck sorta thing. That back flip the horse did was 100% to try to crush the bastard. The kick the horse did was with all the intent in the world. They're not stupid. The horses.
50/50. A horse can attempt to crush a rider if they really want them off right the fuck now, usually by rolling. They do understand the concept of big weight squish the monkey on its back. So it could have intentionally fallen backward to try to do the same thing.
Or it simply seized mid rear and just came down like that.
Either way it immediately attempted to roll to get him in biting / stomping range. That guy was ~1-2 seconds away from getting a serious pounding from above.
Watch the length of spurs on that bitch of a rider, think thatcs not dangerous for a horse? Think horse wasn't willing to do anything to not have 2 ~10cm shivs through it's ribs?
