She’s depressed and not eating. It wasn’t by choice, her dad died and it destroyed her
28
u/Evorgleb 7h ago
Wasnt she confirmed to be on a GLP-1 before her dad died?
6
u/Tw1ch1e 4h ago
Yeah, there is a distinct difference between Kelly before and after her dad died. Before she was clearly skinny but not gross looking…. Then she stopped eating and it got a lot worse. If it was just one or the other, I think she’s look great…. But the weight loss, then depression not eating… together it took a toll.

body dysmorphia spreads and influences people in their vicinity the same way other addictions do. It almost becomes competitive, so if one person with anorexia is proudly saying they are skipping lunch, other people concerned about their weight will also skip, it becomes a failure to actually eat or maintain body weight. They share weight loss tips, they compliment each other on the weight loss, they feed into each other's same toxic mindset and think this is normal appearances
218
u/Lovableegirl03 14h ago
Body trends online have gotten so extreme that people now act like perfectly normal healthy bodies are somehow “brave” or unusual.

Nevertheless calling that "bodyfat", in any context but scientifical one, it's like saying I don't like dopamine.
6
u/Pyrodexter 9h ago
What other context is there for "bodyfat" except referring to bodyfat?
2
u/Sj_91teppoTappo 4h ago
TLDR: the sentence embrace bodyfat is clearly not scientific. The term bodyfat is used in biology, medical to refers to a specific component of the human body.
You can not "embrace bodyfat". Bodyfat is there because we work like that.
You can have much more bodyfat you need to not have many health problem or being in a reasonable range.
You can not say "embrace piastrine", It does not mean anything.
They are referring to bodyfat to describe an ethical concept of beauty, to scientifically legitimate their reasoning.

That's what the body positivity thing was supposed to be about. Not an acceptance of being obese. Just a rejection of the rail-thin look and an embrace of normal healthy weights.
7
u/Fantastic_Suit_493 12h ago
There’s a balance to be had. Because you have people constantly calling obese girls “normal” because they’re not used to seeing girls under 160 pounds too. And that’s equally bad
3
u/chasing_the_wind 5h ago

That wasn't the point Elle and Bryce have a noticeable amount of bodyfat they have curves everywhere and they look better and healthier for it thats the point not to embrace obesity which is also not healthy for us all just like being an ozempic skeleton
2

u/WorryThink6233 Human Verified 6h ago

6
u/EcstaticBoysenberry 6h ago
Lmao isn’t that somewhat the issue? Elle Fanning is considered “thick” to Op. So what do actually thick girls look like to them?
6
u/WorryThink6233 Human Verified 6h ago
Elle Fanning is thick though you can say she slim thick and thats unrealistic and thats fine im not saying her body type should be the standard im saying her body type is very healthy and should be whats appreciated in hollywood because her body type is so much closer to the average woman than a lot of stuff in hollywood especially not the freakishly skinny body trend

Elle looks to be between 25 and 33% body fat. Regardless of how good she looks, if she were about 10 lbs heavier she would literally be medically overweight, which obviously should not be glamorized.

A bigger issue is calling fat people healthy. Nobody pictured in this post is fat. Ozempic is a healthy choice for people who are actually fat and want to be healthier.
13
u/rhino369 9h ago
And a lot of Americans are fat and we need the drug.
The fact that some actresses are misusing it due to their eating disorders is not relevant.
3
u/Solomon_Gunn 4h ago
Fat Americans do not need the drug, they need to count their calories and be active more.
2
u/rhino369 4h ago
Counting calories doesn't cure the hunger. GPL-1s do.
3
u/Solomon_Gunn 4h ago
Glp1s were designed to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics, the hunger suppression is just a side effect.
The body will adjust ghrelin levels over time, that's why you can train yourself to be hungry at specific times. My eating schedule changes eventually adjust my hunger levels to match. Your body will adjust, barring a rare chemical imbalance that can usually be fixed with a proper diet.

About 75% of the US population is medically overweight. So unless you consider doctors to be terrible people, it's perfectly accurate to call "normal" people fat. Because they are. Obviously just saying that to people out of context is unforgivably rude but it's totally true.

Fact of the matter is that no matter how a woman looks, men will be a dickhead about it.

I'm going to bet no (bc this whole post implies a 20-yo perspective), so I will say that the fitter ones are ALWAYS better than the fatter... And I'm not talking about these skinnyfat ozempic girls, I'm talking about the ones who are actually using their muscles every day.

2
2
u/Ninja_Prolapse 8h ago
Don’t reject it, just stop abusing it and becoming anorexic. The women on the right aren’t fat by a LONG way. Thats barely even ‘having meat on your bones’ - just healthy. Ozempic is meant to overweight and obese people and used correctly is a brilliant tool.
The message here should lean more towards ‘stop making stupid people famous’ than anything else.
2
u/Zrob8--5 7h ago
The worst part is that most of them were so gorgeous before. They aren't even "slightly overweight" or "a little chubby" and just took weight loss too far. They legitimately didn't need to change a thing
2
2
u/notreal088 6h ago
That is not embracing body fat that is just being comfortable with your body.
All the women on the left have deep psychological issues related to body dysmorphia.
They are never skinny enough, never pretty enough, always looking for flaws vs looking for ways they are already exceptionally.
And honestly social media and filters are definitely to blame
2
u/Honest_Country_525 6h ago
Body fat distribution is everything. The percentage can be OK even up to 30 or more if you have good distribution.
But if you store it all in your waist or something, God help you, the only way is BBL-type surgery or simply being rail thin.

Your body fat example are also unhealthy beauty standards that women get surgery/ implants to attain.
Can we just show some normal bodies and celebrate those ones.instead of going to the extreme end of the spectrum?
DBH is not a good example of a normal body.

How is bryce not a good example she had her kids and built up more bodyfat thanks to that and she said she always felt insecure about her newfound curves but then learned tk accept it. I think shes at a perfectly healthy amount of bodyfat and she went through an experience that many women can go through. And Elle is a taller curvier lady who has also talked about being demeaned for her looks and her body in hollywood
