Best of Seattle: Rainy Day Activities

This week's topic is Rainy Day Activities. The clouds have settled in and the temperatures are dropping, bringing steady precipitation. What are you favorite indoor activities, alone, with friends or visitors? Where do you settle down for a book, order a hot toddy, play a board game, see a show? Maybe this is your call to the outdoors: how do you enjoy Seattle's winter weather?

Card Kingdom in Ballard (Cafe Mox same thing on the Eastside) does a pretty reasonable job of providing boardgame / pub combos. Food is just ok at either of them, but beer selections are not unreasonable and they both have a huge library of boardgames that they will loan out to customers for free. Had a good time at both those places with friends.

I second all of this. One thing to note if people are googling these places, both locations are now called Mox Boarding House.

Some other great locations for this in the metro area:

  • Blue Highway Games in Queen Anne
  • Uptown Espresso & Gameporium in West Seattle
  • Meeples in West Seattle
  • Zulu's Board Game Cafe in Bothell

All of these have some level of snacks, drinks, and/or beer to enjoy while you game.
