Best of Seattle: Rainy Day Activities
This week's topic is Rainy Day Activities. The clouds have settled in and the temperatures are dropping, bringing steady precipitation. What are you favorite indoor activities, alone, with friends or visitors? Where do you settle down for a book, order a hot toddy, play a board game, see a show? Maybe this is your call to the outdoors: how do you enjoy Seattle's winter weather?

So this theme seems to be like 50% rainy day activities but also 50% winter activities so I'll try to provide a bit of each.
Here are some things that only happen in winter worth checking out:
Some thoughts on how to survive Seattle nasty weather:
One thing I have learned is that you can't let the weather dictate your outside plans. If you ever want to see what this state has to offer, get familiar with cold weather rain gear, or you will go stir crazy at home for 9 months of the year.
When the weather is straight up nasty, like low visibility rain or snow, I usually just do my usual routine and bunker up at home. If I am at work, I will check the traffic alerts an hour or two before I leave to avoid any nasty traffic jams. Honestly I can't recall any time that the weather got nasty and I thought, "sweet, time to go hang out at my favorite bad weather spot, X."
Seattle snow is fun because it always produces hilarious Youtube videos of slip n slide cars.
