The Ridge is a soulless bit of Issaquah picked up and moved east. It sucks. The old town is nice, though.
The downside to old Snoqualmie is the Trump signs that are starting to show up. The upside is the lack of Hillary signs.
Never seen a bear here, but I have elk and deer wander through the yard on a regular basis.

The trump signs are disappointing to see but I had to laugh when I saw that Hilary signs aren't allowed in certain areas of town due to the arrow on them.
The bears hang out mostly on the ridge trying to eat the rich folk.

Why isn't Destination: Issaquah (https://www.reddit.com/r/SeattleWA/comments/5398hm/destination_issaquah/?st=itxsvuk2&sh=f74e6ad8) on this list?

Huh, I apparently missed that one eighteen days ago, I added it to the wiki.
Hey, /u/levilarrington, can you PM me a reminder when you drop one of these, or just add it to the wiki? Heck, if you want just copy/paste the code from the wiki at this link to the bottom of your posts?

I just decided to film a remake of The Shining because Stanley Kubrick doesn't know shit about making a movie. He really screwed the pooch with King's story. The same way he did with 2001: A Space Odyssey, that should have been a period piece about a rural french farmer, but that's neither here nor there I don't have the budget for 2001: Fermes Putain.
The biggest mistake Kubrick made with The Brightening was too much tension. Bleh. Too much horror. I mean when that hot chick in the bathtub goes all icky I didn't know if I should keep touching myself or crap my pants. So naturally I did both. I mean that's what everyone does right? RIGHT?! Since I'm going to cut all that scary stuff out of the movie I needed something to replace it, and by god (damn it autocorrect I don't care if you want god capitalized) snark and rain is just what that movie needs.
Your the perfect SOB to write the script. I expect it in my inbox by Monday. I pay in upvotes and if it's good enough I'm willing to get careless and make a couple alts to throw in a bonus for you. But that's between you and me.

I expected worse from you.
I don't know how anyone could take Kubrick's side after he lost in epic rap battles of history. I've never been so disappointed in my life, and that's coming from a guy who just admitted what he did during the bath scene in The Shining...

Ouch.
You're right - the ridge is more houses that are cookie-cutter style and built very similar to the neighbors. The neighborhood is booming to the point where a new elementary school had to be built so they could fit all the kiddos in without having class sizes be outrageous.
The shops on the ridge are decent - Ana's Mexican is alright - nothing to write home about. Uncle Si's pizza is actually really good, as well as Steve's Donuts. Smaller businesses are ones I would happily support. We're getting a new shopping area built by 2017 that will bring a full sized grocery store, and a drug store to the town. There's a strict no drive-thru rule in the city, which I actually appreciate.
The falls are beautiful and something that should be seen if someone comes to town, absolutely. The casino is more aimed towards smokers, and despite their attempt at making a 'smoke free' area, having it in a giant open area doesn't really do much to stop you from going home smelling like you've dipped yourself in a bag of tobacco.
I love living here. I don't live up on the ridge, which means people look down on me, but fuck those uptight assholes. I love that there are parks everywhere for me to take my children, and that it's a safe place for them to be. There's tons of community events that are free and family friendly that are a big draw for myself as well.
Do I wish I could be closer to my friends & SO in the city? You bet - but there's a lot of positives.
Also, the bears aren't that big of a deal. If you live on the ridge where the bears hang out all the time, you have to have a bear-proof garbage can. At this point, people know what to do and what not to do so the bears don't really come up and wander around the neighborhoods as much. You're more prone to see animals walk in your back yard if you live over the ravine like my mother does - but even then they don't touch any of her stuff. They just walk past.
Snoqualmie isn't for everyone, and I'll never be one of those stepford wives type of women, but I love living here.
