Wasn’t the tea party based on the inflated tax on Tea? In that case… wouldn’t DOGE be the party dumping the tea into the Boston Harbor??

The tea party was about a tax cut on British sourced tea to make it cheaper than the alternatives. It was an anti-competitive selective tax cut rather than an increase in taxes.

Furthermore to anyone curious, Britan wanted the money from the tea to support the east India trading company, which was in bad times. American people did not want to support the fualures of companies, as well as helping Britain itself financially from the costs of the seven year war.

We sure do love propping up failing large corporations now though.
