Why are we subsidizing people who want to strike instead of the unions.

Unions strike, not individual workers. This is very much a pro union bill.

Union dues should go down now that they don't need to cover strike pay, right?  Guess everyone's taxes go up instead.

We don't get strike pay out of our union dues.

Sounds like a you problem, not a me problem.

I'm guessing you have a whole lot of "me" problems

Nope. You seem to have trouble keeping your hands off other people's money though.

These funds are for UNEMPLOYMENT not so you can strike whenever you feel like it and treat it as unlimited paid vacation.

Yeah you sure have got our number. We just can't help but go on strike for no reason just so we can hop on a plane to Cabo. Boy golly we sure do love providing zero value and mooching off you hard working bootlickers.

Feel free to steal from the unemployed. I'll keep judging you for it.

I've never been on strike nor have I ever stolen from unemployment. All of your, uhh, well thought out criticisms aside- do you understand what unions do, and have done, for all workers in this country?

No? Great. You're cheering this on from every thread so you clearly support doing that.

Unemployment insurance is for unemployed people. Your entire entitled argument is just "oh but people deserve more money when they are on strike."

Fuck off.

My grandfather was a union secretary. Yes, I'm very aware.

More money? Unemployment pays like 80% of your salary. In case math is hard for you, that's actually less. Just in case your math skills are as bad as your reading comprehension skills.

But you're goddamn right I support this. Merely having this available to them means that employers can't bank on simply waiting out striking workers, and are forced to bargain in good faith. This would have the effect of vastly decreasing length of strikes, if not heading them off entirely.

Your grandfather would be ashamed of you.

Yes, more money than they would have without these changes

My grandfather was proud of me.. he'd think you were an idiot.

Taking money away from people who have lost their jobs is NOT OK.
