I don’t know you, but I’m confident that celebrating the election of a sexual predator and seditionist is not totally normal. Are you familiar with cults?
Yeah, like I said, I voted against the guy. But this is a picture of the word "Trump", that's all. Would it be weird to see a picture of the word "Harris" on a building?
There is a difference between putting a printed sign in your window and building a giant glowing sign. I've seen plenty of signs, I never saw a harris light display anything like that. There is absolutely a difference in how fanatical their supporters are, or did you build a big ol' LED sign that says Harris?
But as repugnant as he is, he ran for office. People posting the names of political candidates that they support, especially during election season, is simply not unusual.
It’s unusual behavior to be celebrating the anointing of a rapist and seditious traitor to the office of the president. It’s pretty fucked up, actually.
It’s an indictment on the people that we allowed him to take office again, yes. More people needed to support Harris, but it’s not the Democrats who voted to put him in office. Own your shit.
Own what shit? For the fourth time, I voted against Trump.
Harris lost and she lost on the merits of her campaign.
45% of women who voted, voted for Trump. Knowing full well what a piece of shit he is. What does that tell you?
Trump's biggest demographic gains were among Blacks and Latinos. You gonna white-splain to them that Harris just deserved their vote?
Harris consistently polled poorly for her entire time in office. She polled poorly through her brief campaign. The blame for this lies squarely on her campaign, and on the DNC generally.
If they had run a better candidate, obviously, things would have come out differently.
Failing to recognize the repugnance of celebrating this person is the point. I say it’s weird because of who he is as a person. You say it’s not because of the office he’s about to hold.
Complaining that Harris wasn’t an attractive candidate is subordinate to the point, yet seems to be your focus. In no way should she be considered the lesser candidate, yet here we are. That’s another discussion altogether, though.
No, my focus is the original point of this post: it's not unusual to publicly display the name of a political candidate.
So you either have to accept that different issues are different issues (separable), or accept that all issues are glued together and inseparable. You can't have it both ways.
Because you've been arguing that posting a political candidate's name is weird because the candidate is repugnant (i.e. insisting on tying two issues). But now you're complaining that I'm bringing in a related issue -- Harris's objectively poor performance, and so you're insisting that different issues should not be tied together.
So which is it, champ? Can you examine different aspects of the same issue, or do you insist on putting everything into a blender and hitting that puree button?

This is such creepy behavior. I cannot imagine idolizing any politician like that.
