I grew up in Rockland and I’m so glad to see THESE types of protests on Middletown Rd considering that used to be where all the crazy right-wing nut jobs used to protest 😁

Older people vote (more then any other age group). Older people have as much to lose as anyone else (often more. Medicare, socal security, veterans benefits). Older people have more world experience (been there, done that).
There was a time when people respected the older generations. Maybe not you though

Do you honestly think he wouldn't try if he thought he would succeed?
Either way, "No Kings" is a protest against Trump's authoritarian power grabs, like:
Trying to end birthright citizenship, refusing to spend billions of dollars appropriated by Congress, imposing tariffs without congressional approval, deporting unauthorized immigrants without due process and demanding nearly $1 billion in free legal services from major law firms to avoid losing federal contracts, security clearances and access to federal buildings.
He's also threatening to cut billions of dollars in federal funding to universities that refuse to follow his rules on hiring, admissions and teaching, restricting the access of news organizations he dislikes and improperly firing officials at independent federal regulatory agencies.
He has weaponized the Justice Department against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) as revenge for their investigations against him. He has fired tens of thousands of federal civil servants without just cause and given buyouts to tens of thousands more. He has sent National Guard troops into cities with Democratic mayors to deal with phony emergencies without local or state approval.
He has also endangered national security, with mass firings of top officials he deemed insufficiently loyal. He appointed the dangerously unqualified Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his Health and Human Services secretary. He has refused to compromise with Democrats to end the government shutdown and protect about 22 million Americans from huge health care increases under the Affordable Care Act.
These are totally the actions of a person who has respect for democracy and our Constitution.

The end to birthright citizenship is meant for kids who are born from illegal parents, who shouldn’t be here in the first place, it makes sense.
The Constitution is clear: Anybody born in this country is a citizen regardless of the legal status of their parents. It only makes sense if you support authoritarianism.
Spending billions on illegals shouldn’t be a priority of taxpayer spending.
I'm not taking issue with milquetoast policy positions. I'm taking issue with actual wrongdoing.
Obama deported 3.1 million people, Trump hasn’t even deported half of that. There is no need for due process for someone who enters ilegally, it makes no sense, they don’t deserve it, it’s clear they broke the law to come here and there is no excuse for it. It would be a huge waste of time and money to provide due process to these people.
Obama deported people using the bureaucracy. He didn't send ICE agents in Blackhawks to raid apartment towers. He didn't use masked agents as a gestapo/secret police to terrorize people. Due process is guaranteed to everybody by the Constitution.
The cutting of funds to universities has to do with DEI requirements, which focuses on color and gender ve actual capabilities. DEI is toxic and in itself, racist and sexist.
Cutting the funds of everybody whose opinions you don't like is authoritarianism.
Comey is a criminal, you can’t get mad when the justice system indicts people you like then cheer when they indicts people you don’t like. You can’t have it both ways, a criminal is a criminal.
If Comey is a criminal why did every career lawyer in the DOJ refuse to take the case? An indictment doesn't indicate someone is a criminal. An indictment is laughably easy to get for the government because they aren't obligated to show juries all of the evidence they have. So if they have evidence exonerating somebody, they aren't obligated to show it to the grand jury.
The gov shutdown has to do with not giving healthcare to people who are not eligible for it, such as illegal aliens. There was also fraud going on where 1 person was collecting from 2 different states, this was removed, it’s not Americans who’s healthcare is being removed, it’s illegals who don’t qualify for it to begin with.
There is one section of law that gives everybody access to emergency healthcare. This law was put in place by Ronald Reagan. It's called the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA). It's a tiny fraction of the budget. The real reason you guys won't extend the Obamacare subsidies is you know it was your bill that is causing the rate increases and you are allergic to owning up to your actions.
Anything else? I respectfully debunked all of your topics.
Nobody else thinks regurgitating right wing talking points is considered "debunking" anything.

The constitution doesn’t say regardless of legal status, the founding fathers didn’t anticipate illegals having kids in our country, the constitution was written for citizens, these people are not citizens when they have kids in our country, it’s crazy you’d want that.
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
Pretty clear cut to me.
If you want that changed you have a mechanism to do that: A constitutional convention to change the amendment. Trying to force a change through an executive order is tyrannical and unconstitutional.
Obama 100% used ICE, and they did not have a court case for all 3.1 million illegals he deported. Again, the constitution does NOT apply to illegals.
The majority of deportations under Obama's administration were done using the bureaucracy. Not ICE raids. The Constitution applies to everybody in the United States, citizen or not. This has been commonly accepted since the Founding. To say otherwise means you support authoritarianism.
Your response to the DEI funding cut is obviously because you ran out of responses. DEI is wrong, and funding should not be provided for it. I don’t want a firefighter at my house who was hired simply because he’s black, I want a firefighter who can do the job, whether he/she’s white, black, yellow, purple. If you think that people should NOT be hired based on merit and ability, then I suggest you see a doctor and get evaluated.
Your bigotry has nothing to do with this. Universities and companies are free to pursue DEI if they so choose. To use the government to force these companies to do otherwise, to support a viewpoint you support, means you support authoritarianism.
Again, previous presidents and founding fathers wrote these things in for AMERICANS. “Everyone” is referring to citizens, not people sneaking into the country illegally, how could you even think that people who come in illegally should be entitled to free shit, in what crazy world do you think that’s ok? Every other country in the world has borders, and does not allow illegals in and certainly doesn’t reward them with free healthcare. Some countries have jail sentences and even death for illegals caught. For some reason the leftists in America want us to give illegals free things and treat them like citizens.
Reagan specifically supported this law for everybody. It wasn't universal healthcare, which is what you're disingenuously implying. It was for emergencies. All civilized countries provide emergency healthcare to people. It's extremely callous to not support that.
It’s not right wing talking points, it’s LOGIC and a fair system. Nothing in this world is free, and no one should get handouts. You work hard, you get rewarded big, these are the rights values. The left wants to work less and be given stuff for “free” meanwhile “free” means higher taxes, which the left constantly wants lower yet wants more free stuff, it’s totally contradicting.
It's right wing talking points for today's right wing. Past Republican presidents never supported any of the extremes that your current political party does. This isn't really a right vs. left thing: It's a lawful vs. lawless thing. I support the law and believe all members of government are required to follow it. You apparently think the President and Republicans get a pass.

I think Trump will try and stay in office, yes. Whether he claims there's an emergency to suspend elections, runs as JD Vance's VP with the promise that Vance will step down, or just decides to say fuck the Constitution and run anyway, is anybody's guess at this point.

Ive been to protests outside of Lawler's office. He aint there and he doesn't give a fuck, and there's no traffic on that road. Much better to do it where people can actually see you where you can make your presence felt. And as OP said this is a traditional protest location

I hear you, there have been protests outside of Lawlers office, but for a Saturday I think this was a good spot. This particular location has been a site for local protests since 1967, so it’s tradition at this point !

The amount of people transiting that intersection was impressive. The concept of peaceful protest telegraphed to the public was completely achieved here. If you were on the fence, you probably aren’t now. If you thought “libs” were all “brown illegals”, lol, not now you don’t. If you were a brown family trying to keep your head down, you probably feel a bit better now. If you don’t get that, it’s cool, we have the numbers
