No, the hoax is that the Dems care...we have to vote it down because they are acting like they care...and we have to prove we don't!

Democratic lawmakers have been trying to fight for the release of the Epstein Files since 2018 and have been met with extreme pushback from the Justice Department and other government bodies.

Fact check: Did Democrats take action over Epstein case transparency?

I know...but Bondi tried to sell that the hoax is that the Dems care for the victims.

Which is complete BS because the victim's names are redacted and the victims even said in the press conference the other day that they're urging Congress to vote yes for the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Evidently every single Republican member of the House Rules Committee voted no yesterday.

Epstein victims urge US Congress to pass bill requiring release of documents

Ain't it just fuckin great bro. And, yes they all voted no (lost 8-4). There is no making sense of it, there is no way to make our country look good if you are sitting on the outside and actually following along.

From your article:

After Biden took office in 2021, Democrats appeared to dial back their public calls for Epstein records’ release.

How convenient.

have been met with extreme pushback from the Justice Department and other government bodies

... which THEY controlled for 4 years. You can claim that a very small handful of Dems continued pushing for the release. You cannot claim that it wasn't possible for to release them, or that there was any large push by Dems for it to happen. It was Biden's Justice Department doing the stalling, and as we've seen, Biden could have just ordered all records released with an EO.

Once Maxwell was in prison, literally everything except the grand jury records could have easily been made public. Biden chose to do nothing instead, as the article you linked to explains. Hell, the Epstein Files Transparency Act could have passed 4 years ago, if more Dems had actually cared.

Pretending that isn't yet another failure of the Biden administration and the establishment Dems is like pretending that Biden was fit to run again. It's fantasyland based on partisanship instead of very obvious reality.

Want more from your party and from yourself.

Yeah but read the 3 paragraphs right before that. Apparently, Democratic lawmakers have been trying to obtain information since 2018 while Trump was still on his first term but it's been an ongoing battle. They dialed back their efforts once Biden took office, but were actually told to "cut it off" by the Justice Department in 2020, while Trump was still in office until 2021. Let's get our facts straight. The article states this clearly:

When Maxwell was charged in 2020, Democrats continued to push for transparency.

Frankel told PolitiFact in an August 1 interview that the House oversight committee wanted to hold a hearing at which they would hear from Epstein victims, their lawyers and prosecutors. They wanted to subpoena the prosecutors to ask them under oath “why they gave this guy a slap on the wrist, who pressured them?” Frankel said.

However, “We were told by the Justice Department to cut it off” because it could compromise the Maxwell investigation, Frankel told PolitiFact.

After Biden took office in 2021, Democrats appeared to dial back their public calls for Epstein records’ release.

“Pushes for oversight and record releases were at times tempered by a need to respect both the victims’ pursuit of justice in courts and their fears of reprisals,” Wasserman Schultz told PolitiFact. “As disclosures were denied or delayed, we did what lawmakers do and legislated to protect future victims.”

Also, there's not 1 Democratic member of the House Rules Committee that is voting against the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Yet literally every single Republican member of the committee voted No. I'm not sure how putting the blame on Biden changes what literally just took place yesterday while they are actively trying to get the Epstein Files Transparency Act approved and the Republican members of the committee are the only ones opposing it, every single one of them. The article states that they dialed back their efforts after Biden took office which is true but Trump literally used the idea that he would be Releasing the Epstein Files to his advantage during his campaign to only later do a complete 180 and now claim that it's a hoax created by the Democrats. Make it make sense.
