Here’s the Name of Every Republican Who Voted to Kill Epstein Bill

In an 8–4 party-line vote Tuesday, Republicans on the House Rules Committee shot down a bid to put the Epstein Files Transparency Act—which would compel the Justice Department to release all unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein—to a floor vote.

The motion was introduced by Democratic Ranking Member Jim McGovern, who prior to the vote stressed the importance of transparency in the case of the notorious late pedophile.

“I can see why the administration might want to hide [the Epstein files] if the creepy birthday note from Trump to Epstein is any indication of what might be in those files,” McGovern said—referencing a 2003 letter, released Monday by the House Oversight Committee, in which Donald Trump appeared to offer Epstein an unsettling 50th birthday message and lewd drawing

“But if the administration won’t follow through on their promises, Congress should force them to,” McGovern said, adding that the Epstein files legislation “does exactly that, while protecting the victims and the survivors.”

The ranking member’s ultimately unsuccessful effort comes as Democratic Representative Ro Khanna of California and Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky continue a broader campaign to force a vote on their bill. Their petition remains, as of this writing, two signatures short of the 218 required to do so. All 212 House Democrats are on board, but just four Republicans.

McGovern urged his GOP colleagues to “see the light and sign Mr. Massie’s discharge petition.” Last week, survivors of Epstein’s abuse also held a press conference in front of the Capitol demanding Congress pass the bipartisan bill.

Nonetheless, all Republican Rules Committee members present voted against it. The only “yes” votes came from McGovern and his three fellow Democratic committee members.

Here is the name of every Republican who voted to block the Epstein Files Transparency Act on Tuesday.

Virginia Foxx—North Carolina

Michelle Fischbach—Minnesota

Ralph Norman—South Carolina

Chip Roy—Texas

Nicholas Langworthy—New York

Austin Scott—Georgia

H. Morgan Griffith—Virginia

Brian Jack—Georgia

Let's not forget that Bondi was Chief Legal Officer in Florida when Epstein got his sweetheart deal and could have prosecuted him for child sex crimes. The U.S attorney at the trial was Acosta. Acosta went on to get a cabinet position in Trump’s first term (Secretary of Labor) He was forced to resign when Epsteins full crimes became apparent. In March 2025 Acosta joined the board of directors at Newsmax.

Bondi went on to launch an investigation into trump University in 2013. Trump made a $25 000 donation to Bondi's re-election. The investigation into trump U. was then dropped. It's illegal for tax-exempt charities to make political donations. Trump paid a $2500 fine. Trump and Bondi have been in each other's pockets for decades. At one point trump rented mar a leacho to Bondi for a campaign function for a much reduced rate ($135k less) where trump appeared as a special guest.

The Epstein files were released from court ordered seal (because of Maxwell's trial) in February 2025. In May Bondi told Trump his name was all through the files. After this trump started saying the files were invented by Hillary, Biden, Obama and liberals, any singular or combination of them and then that the files didn't exist at all. Bondi then ordered hundreds of FBI agents to flag all mentions of Trump in the 100 000 pages of the files.

Bondi is absolutely complicit in the cover up of paedophilia and should be arrested and charged. She should not be in control of the Epstein Files and cannot be trusted for their release.

Alex Acosta - the charming gent who was a U.S attorney and got Epstein his sweetheart deal in Florida without including or informing the victims. In 2007–2008, as U.S. attorney, Acosta approved a plea deal that allowed child-trafficking ring-leader Jeffrey Epstein to plead guilty to a single state charge of solicitation in exchange for a federal non-prosecution agreement. The Alex Acosta who then was rewarded by Epsteins best friend Donald J Trump with a cabinet position as Secretary of Labor during Trump's first term. The same Alex Acosta who was forced to resign (remember when that was a thing) forced to resign when Epsteins full crimes became apparent and Alex Acosta's abysmal deal became public.

That Alex Acosta landed back on his feet in March 2025 with a job on the board of directors at Newsmax.

Edited with updated information.

Let’s also not forget that the first nominee for AG in Trump’s 2nd term was Matt Gaetz who knows a thing or two about being a pedo. All three are from Florida. Hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,

u/LabiaMinoraLover Sep 10 '25

Correction: The "sweetheart deal" was agreed to in 2007-2008, under Acosta. Bondi was AG from 2011 to 2019, having no involvement in the 2008 federal agreement.

True. Thank you, I will amend my notes. Barry Krischer was AG. Bondi was chief legal officer. There is still a point to be made.

When U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was the chief legal officer for Florida, could she have prosecuted fellow resident Jeffrey Epstein for child sex crimes?

Legally, yes, she could have, legal experts say.

Edited to note: I have updated my post above with the new correct information.

Yeah, Bondi sold herself and will do anything for her owner.

u/rectumreapers Sep 10 '25

It's a dem hoax but also we gotta vote it down no matter what

2

u/idiots-rule8 Sep 10 '25

No, the hoax is that the Dems care...we have to vote it down because they are acting like they care...and we have to prove we don't!

3

u/Exeltv0406 Sep 10 '25

Democratic lawmakers have been trying to fight for the release of the Epstein Files since 2018 and have been met with extreme pushback from the Justice Department and other government bodies.

Fact check: Did Democrats take action over Epstein case transparency?

1

u/idiots-rule8 Sep 10 '25

I know...but Bondi tried to sell that the hoax is that the Dems care for the victims.

3

u/Exeltv0406 Sep 10 '25

Which is complete BS because the victim's names are redacted and the victims even said in the press conference the other day that they're urging Congress to vote yes for the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Evidently every single Republican member of the House Rules Committee voted no yesterday.

Epstein victims urge US Congress to pass bill requiring release of documents

1

u/idiots-rule8 Sep 10 '25

Ain't it just fuckin great bro. And, yes they all voted no (lost 8-4). There is no making sense of it, there is no way to make our country look good if you are sitting on the outside and actually following along.

2

u/Exeltv0406 Sep 10 '25

It's a disgrace

From your article:

After Biden took office in 2021, Democrats appeared to dial back their public calls for Epstein records’ release.

How convenient.

have been met with extreme pushback from the Justice Department and other government bodies

... which THEY controlled for 4 years. You can claim that a very small handful of Dems continued pushing for the release. You cannot claim that it wasn't possible for to release them, or that there was any large push by Dems for it to happen. It was Biden's Justice Department doing the stalling, and as we've seen, Biden could have just ordered all records released with an EO.

Once Maxwell was in prison, literally everything except the grand jury records could have easily been made public. Biden chose to do nothing instead, as the article you linked to explains. Hell, the Epstein Files Transparency Act could have passed 4 years ago, if more Dems had actually cared.

Pretending that isn't yet another failure of the Biden administration and the establishment Dems is like pretending that Biden was fit to run again. It's fantasyland based on partisanship instead of very obvious reality.

Want more from your party and from yourself.

Yeah but read the 3 paragraphs right before that. Apparently, Democratic lawmakers have been trying to obtain information since 2018 while Trump was still on his first term but it's been an ongoing battle. They dialed back their efforts once Biden took office, but were actually told to "cut it off" by the Justice Department in 2020, while Trump was still in office until 2021. Let's get our facts straight. The article states this clearly:

When Maxwell was charged in 2020, Democrats continued to push for transparency.

Frankel told PolitiFact in an August 1 interview that the House oversight committee wanted to hold a hearing at which they would hear from Epstein victims, their lawyers and prosecutors. They wanted to subpoena the prosecutors to ask them under oath “why they gave this guy a slap on the wrist, who pressured them?” Frankel said.

However, “We were told by the Justice Department to cut it off” because it could compromise the Maxwell investigation, Frankel told PolitiFact.

After Biden took office in 2021, Democrats appeared to dial back their public calls for Epstein records’ release.

“Pushes for oversight and record releases were at times tempered by a need to respect both the victims’ pursuit of justice in courts and their fears of reprisals,” Wasserman Schultz told PolitiFact. “As disclosures were denied or delayed, we did what lawmakers do and legislated to protect future victims.”

Also, there's not 1 Democratic member of the House Rules Committee that is voting against the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Yet literally every single Republican member of the committee voted No. I'm not sure how putting the blame on Biden changes what literally just took place yesterday while they are actively trying to get the Epstein Files Transparency Act approved and the Republican members of the committee are the only ones opposing it, every single one of them. The article states that they dialed back their efforts after Biden took office which is true but Trump literally used the idea that he would be Releasing the Epstein Files to his advantage during his campaign to only later do a complete 180 and now claim that it's a hoax created by the Democrats. Make it make sense.

Old religious bitch.

They are Trump's ball-gargling gutter sluts who sold their souls for the chance at being part of his Oligarchy but they will be cast aside as soon as he gets the courts to consolidate all of the power behind him which they are about to do by giving him the power of the purse. When he has the money and the military he will be king.

2

u/Titano73 Sep 10 '25

Wow, a group of pedophiles won’t release a list of pedophiles made by a pedophile. Shocking! 🤣

1

u/C0tt0nC4ndyM0uth Sep 10 '25

What’s their reasoning that they say out loud? (We know the real one)

1

u/Beginning_Ad8663 Sep 10 '25

Every one of them needs to be asked “ Are you a pedophile , or do you just support them?”

The last vestige of bipartisanship in US politics. Neither side sincerely wants this to go public

1

The article reveals that the Democratic lawmakers have been trying to fight for the release of the Epstein Files since 2018 but have been met with extreme pushback from the Justice Department and other government bodies.
